    2K Games Picks Up Zathura
    Posted On 05/13/05 @ 11:17 AM

New York, NY – May 13, 2005 – 2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), announced today an exclusive licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to publish and distribute a video game based on Columbia Pictures' upcoming film Zathura.

The Zathura video game, based on the highly anticipated film of the same name, will be released for console systems in conjunction with the theatrical release of the movie in late 2005. In development by High Voltage Software, Inc., Zathura the video game will allow players to create their own high-action space adventures in a visually stunning 3D game environment.

Based on the best-selling children's adventure book by Chris Van Allsburg (Polar Express, Jumanji), Zathura follows two young brothers who find a mysterious board game that takes them on a wild ride through outer space. Meteor showers, out-of-control rocket-propelled robots and nasty alien lizards are among the obstacles they must overcome to get back to Earth. Zathura is directed by Jon Favreau (Elf) and stars Oscar® winner Tim Robbins (Mystic River).

"Zathura is a fantastic adventure that will thrust fans into an experience like none other," said Christoph Hartmann, Senior Vice President of Publishing at 2K Games. "We are excited to work with Sony Pictures Consumer Products on such a tremendous property for the holidays."

Zathura for PS2 and Xbox will be on display at 2K Games' booth at E3 (that's #968 in the south hall).

I saw a trailer for the movie awhile ago.
          Its a family movie, basicly.

Nifty that you are doing a licensed game though.

Hmm, is Kire working on this game, judging by the topic title?

I'm sorry man, too bad your skills can't be directed towards something worthwhile, like a rpg or something.

When I saw the trailer for this movie, I almost killed over...The same author duplicates the same idea but in space??? Does this man have any dignity, or originality for that matter...GOD!!! And the fact that they are making a movie out of it, why don’t they just have Robin Williams play the lead along with Kirsten Dunst??? WOOOO!!!
