...basically, it says that it's the sun, and not co2 (greenhouse effect) and ALL of my conservative friends are repeating it like it's gospel...which is getting very annoying. What are your thoughts?

I like to think interstellar exploration may have been a solution at one point but we dropped the ball on that one. Besides we'd just **** up the universe anyway!

we have plateaued as a society. everything from here on out is down hill. we had a chance but we decided to make nuclear weapons instead. naturally inventing weapons to destroy this planet takes precedence over finding another planet to inhabit first.

I'm not sure that "half-baked" is quite the right word. It sounds like the authors at least have a legitimate argument:

Co-author John Christy said: “Satellite data and independent balloon data agree that atmospheric warming trends do not exceed those of the surface. Greenhouse models, on the other hand, demand that atmospheric trend values be 2-3 times greater. We have good reason, therefore, to believe that current climate models greatly overestimate the effects of greenhouse gases. Satellite observations suggest that GH models ignore negative feedbacks, produced by clouds and by water vapor, that diminish the warming effects of carbon dioxide.”

But, yes, the scientific data is corrigible and thus nobody should hastily preach preliminary evidence as gospel just because it supports our agenda.

dont tell the scientologists that else they may decide to fight back or think their home planet is the sun or something. we will master space yet, but i fear it will be both a fluke and a disaster. those aliens better start drinking now, when the human race decides to escape from our cold oven we will cause nothing but endless headaches.

this could just be the dumbass observation from the average joe here but if theirs a big ass hole in the ozone then why would the heat stop in the atmosphere? wouldnt it go directly to the ground and heat the ground up?
