ANAL?

I keep all my games in pristine collection. No scratches on the discs, or folds in the manuals. If I have somebody over and they don't put the games back in thier proper case I freak out on them.

I'm not missing one manual or game insert, and everything except for FF7 (I got an original case though) is not the Greatest Hits version.

I have literally piles of old PS1 and PC games sitting on top of each other sans cases.

It doesn't make any difference to me as long as the games function, but I refuse to buy used games -- at least, when new ones are available -- because I always worry that they will be dysfunctional even if they look alright.

It's not like I'm a video game collector. I buy them to play them, not to look at the pretty cases.

Interesting thread... Yeah, I'm a bit anal. I don't care as much about the condition (as long as it's not total crap) as much as I do about things being complete.

I'm going to buy Lunar 2 in the future, but I'm probably going to fork out over $100 to have it complete. I can buy just the game for less than $40. I don't know what that says about me.

im retardedly anal and a game collector. ive boughten many expensive games but im still short lunar 1&2 since its very high priced and i dont have the money. people lose limbs if they scratch anything or even bend a corner of a manual. everything pristine. ive been very mad at auctions toting lies to sell their games for more then they are worth. i have a few games that are not even worth the amount i paid for them because of misrepresentation.

i hate lending games and only lend them to my best friend who is the same about their games. also i refuse to write in books or crack the spines.

not anymore, but i used to be very much like this. i realized it doesnt matter or isn't really all that important to lose my head over little things. the games i do have, i take care of and do my very best to make sure they stay as mint as possible, but its not good to get attached to "things". its less about the games for me and more about being balanced. plus, if it really pains me an instruction manual is gone or less than perfect or a disc or case is in poor condition, everything can be replaced through ebay or other product selling sites. i just have to be willing to pay the money.

now if im buying a used game, then i will be picky. if it looks messed up, or if it looks like it's been resurfaced to be cleaned, then im not gonna buy it. i tell the person, id like to have the cleanest and least scratched disc and i will ask to look at them all. because you know all they do is pull the first disc out and shove it into your game case. they're just trying to get rid of it.

I'm pretty meticulous about keeping my games in their cases and with their manuals but lending games out to friends and family members quickly lead to me giving up on getting things back in fully the condition I lent it.

I never buy used games unless the package is complete and I always keep the games and manuals in the case. Local game stores know me as "that annoying guy who refuses to buy games without the manual."
