    Dad sells Guitar Hero III for 10k

    After catching his 15-year-old smoking pot, a Canadian man sold the hard-to-get Guitar Hero III video game he bought his son for $US90 ($103) for Christmas at an online auction, fetching $US9,100 ($10,420) from an Australian buyer.
    ... Damn, son.

        I heard about it yesterday on the radio. they said the guy made $9000.

            Why did it sell for so much money?

            Did he say in the auction that "I'm selling this because I caught my son smoking pot and want to teach him a lesson."

                That's it.

                I'm buying Rock Band and starting an auction, and making up some crazy story that I bought it for my girlfriend for Christmas so me and my two best friends could start up a band like we always wanted to, but couldn't because we don't have any talent. Then I walked in on them all having a three-some so in my rage I decided to sell it on the internetz.

                    I can't believe people are so stupid as to pay $10k for a game.

                    I mean, come on, you can buy a couple of hundred regular(and more entertaining) games with $10k, which would be more appreciated then one game.

                        It was kind of a double kick in the groin for the son, he lost out on GH3 and now his dad made $9k off of his present, and got nothing in return.

                          Its a fake bid and the auction is fake. I have seen a few stuff on ebay that have a story and people fake bid up the ass to have it go through a second time. Just take a peak at the other auctions and you will find the prices more inline with reality. Unless people figure this is the last day to buy online to get this item, I very much doubt this is a legitimate bid.

                            Yeah I dont see GH3 being that high(considering I saw 5 of them in wal-mart the other day, and 3 more in target), figured they just created another account and bid it extremely high with the chance that someone didnt see the bid right and bid on it.

                              Stuff with a stupid story always goes for crazy money on ebay. "Haunted" items, human ad space, virginity, people sell all kinds of crap that would have little or no real value for big money.
