    LISTMAINIA 2007: Pavilion Edition

The other topic is getting on a theme. So let's make an official topic. What are YOUR top 10 for 2007? It doesn't need to be considered the best, only games released in 2007 you own/played that you thought they were the best of what you played. (Let's stick to 10 games max)

My Best of 2007 List (not in any order):

    1) Guild Wars: Eye of the North (PC)
    2) Growlanser: Heritage of War (PS2)
    3) Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)
    4) Super Paper Mario (Wii)
    5) Godzilla: Unleashed (Wii)
    6) Super Mario Strikers: Charged (Wii)
    7) Pokemon (DS)
    8) Transformers: Decepticon (DS)
    9) Pokemon Battle Revolution (Wii)
    10) Rune Factory (DS)

So many games I still want to play...

I'll just post the top five that kept me entertained, because I am poor.

    1) Portal
    2) Castlevania X Chronicles
    3) ...

I tend to wait for games to drop in price, so I don't own a lot of '07 games. Also, the only 'current' system I own is the PSP. So I'll probably just do a top 3.

        1. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (PSP)-It's Tactics. It was already the best game in the genre back when it had an abysmal translation and a whole one cutscene (in mediocre CG). Now, the translation is top-notch, the cutscenes both unique and powerful, there's over half a dozen new story battles, two new characters, two new classes, and there's a fairly robust multiplayer mode. Oh, and it's portable. No contest here.

        2. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (PSP)-Much like Phantom Dust, this is a rather bizarre and unique hybrid that does not have the best writing (though it did make me laugh intentionally a few times), but is so incredibly and irresistibly playable that turning it off is quite a challenge. The basic puzzle elements may not be anything revolutionary, but with the addition of spells and equipment it makes pretty much every fight distinctive. And the way that other activities, like learning spells, forging items, or training mounts are all used as ways to give you different modes of play extends the game's appeal even further. I've beaten it with two of the four classes, and yet I'm still not sure I will be able to leave it alone for long.

        3. Jeanne D'Arc (PSP)-A lot like DQ 8, in that it is a lengthy, solid, and undeniably charming game with memorable characters, though I'd say between the two Jeanne is probably the better title. In any case, it shows why Level-5 is one of, if not the, best RPG studios in Japan right now. Though it lacks the depth and challenge of War of the Lions, it's the best new SRPG to come down the pipes in a while, and worth a look to any fans of the genre, as well as beginners who want a SRPG to cut their teeth on that is a bit simplistic without being simple-minded.

I've been playing through all my old games. I gotta put a dent in that backlog before I start buying new, expensive, 60 dollar games.

          So...

          Xenogears?

Exactly why I made this one, so the other one stop being off-topic and so we have an official place to put our lists.

                  Oh, wait!

                  Phoenix Wright 3!

That's the best game of the year.

                  According to me.
