Freezing PS3.

Dust problem? Updates fault? I'm not sure but my PS3 is starting to freeze frequently.

So..like...help?

My PS3 has never acted up, so I have no idea what could be wrong with it.

windshield deicer should unfreeze the ps3 just nicely.

baring that, you probably should call the sony help line so they can put you on hold until they have sufficiently ruled out the possibility that you arnt going to go away on your own so they have to take your call.

are you sure the cds arnt the problem? a scratch can cause the game to freeze. dust on the reader could be a problem. when does it freeze? after putting the game in before it loads up or during game play?

my ps3 seems attracts dust like a magnet. so just put it somewhere open with a lot of ventilation and make sure you clean the area every couple days or so.

not like that's the problem, but hey, if you're keeping it in a drawer or something that rules things out.

Fun Fact: I kept my PS2 in a drawer until it started on fire. I didn't tell Sony that's where I was keeping it though.

I've had my PS3 freeze a couple times. So far it's been a total of maybe 4 times since I bought it, and I think it may have something to do with overheating (I was folding at home for a long stretch at one point and my PS3 was under a heating vent).

So far for me it hasn't resulted in much annoyance, and I haven't lost any game progress as a result.

How frequently are we talking about, BTW?

My PS3 will freeze when using the PS3 network.

For me it always happened during load times. I say call Sony, too.

a quick internet search showed that damn near everyone is having some sort of freezing problem. i cant seam to find any solution that satisfies the problems other then making sure your software is up to date which is pretty dumb considering your having problems accessing the network to begin with!

give sony a ring or do an online search with a bit more specific. perhaps you should try the sony faq if they have one.

did you do something differently with your ps3 that may have caused this problem, such as downloading something weird or an update or anything?
