Fall Xbox Live Update...Yay or Nay?

I'm kinda digging the new setup...especially the full-screen previews. One thing I did notice, though, is that if you click on some games to download "featured" or "New" content (Rock Band in particular), it takes forever to load. In this case, it's because it doesn't just take you to a list of content available. It takes you to another screen with 4 or 5 clickable pics, with info and downloads under each one.

What are your thoughts on the update?

Navigating through the menus was slow at first, but now runs pretty smooth for me. Also, keep in mind that a lot of people probably downloaded the update and were checking things out, so going to different pages may have taken longer than usual.

Full screen previews of videos is nice. They should have given an option of watching trailers/movies like that for everything since I eventually delete stuff anyways, no sense in keeping some clips.

The week long delay for silver members to download free stuff was not needed. I have gold, but a week's headstart to grab free crap doesn't make me feel special (game trailers and demos should be received by everyone soon as it's posted). Exclusive content given ONLY to Gold members on the other hand would be nicer.

Seeing who your friend's friends are is ok, but I don't know most people on other people's list and I don't see a reason to randomly send them a friend request. Kinda useless feature for me.

I'm interested in seeing how they use the Inside Xbox feature, and how frequently they update with new info.

In the end, it's just a different look to me so far.

You know... from a business standpoint, giving Silver members limited access to demos, may not have been the best thing to do. At a business standpoint. Because if I was a third party developer, I'd want the general public to have access to those demos in order to sell my product. Maybe this will backfire on Microsoft in this way. I'm sure some third party developers may be miffed by this move for that reason.

It is only a week... It won't have that big of an effect.
