oh, i think 1,2,3 were all on the famicon, but then were later redone for gameboy color ( north America ).5 was made for the playstation 2 but only as an import. 7 was on the playstation, and 8 is on the PS2. #6 and #4 are the only games that cannot be played unless you can read Japaneses . Fortunately Nintendo is making a lot of the games for the DS now, including 4,5,6 i belive..
im thinking about getting a DS, thier making a lot of the old games on it, i think a couple that were only released in japan too. DQ 9 i supposed to be on it too. Im hoping DQ X will be on the wii! that would be so cool, espeically in battles where you can slash the sword, or lunge with a spear etc etc.
I've played the current book-ends of the series, DQ8 and Dragon Warrior on the NES. While I had fun with 8, playing Dragon Warrior again would be too dull to stand. The music alone is enough to limit gameplay to 15 minutes or less. I don't know how I finished it when I was little.
So you're a fish out of water...
Keep swimming.
What else can you do?
yeah, im buying a DS spesificly for dragon quest 9, and the other games including some DQ: Monsters? somthing liek that
Yeah, that Monsters game is already out, it's supposed to be pretty good. As for DQ 9, it should be a lot of fun, 8 certainly was. Not brilliant or anything, but a solid, lengthy diversion.

I'm playing through 4 right now. I know a lot of people hate the tatics system, but I'm really digging it. I haven't decided if I like it better than 3 yet... I love that there's six overworld themes though. Why didn't more games adapt this?
