    AAAAAAALVIIIIIIIN!!!!!!!!!

    It's almost judgment day.

The day when Alvin and the Chipmunks arrive to start judgment.

    The....

    movie.....

I'm sure none of you are going to watch it right!?

Jason Lee is a good actor who continues to be in mediocre or bad movies. Dreamcatcher, Stealing Harvard (not even the best movie with Tom Green, and it's not like there's a lot of competition), that one with Julia Stiles, and Underdog are just a few. But this does look like it might use up both his Kevin Smith geek cred and My Name is Earl awesomeness in one fell swoop.

I couldn't think of a better guy to play Dave but the cartoon was **** anyway, and this movie will be too.

      NEXT.

On the other hand, he did start his own skate company.

Really? Damn, the tendrils of that screwy little cult extend deeper than I expected.

Sure. The first two seasons of Earl are proof of that. Not so much the current one, but then I think the blame there falls mostly on the writers. Some of these episodes have been too retarded for anyone to pull off.

                  okay. fair enough.

but i'm pretty sure he was some skateboarder that kevin smith used to play the same character over and over again. the earl character is pretty good.

                  but, i still wouldn't say he's a good actor.

                  he's..just an actor. to me.

Unfortunately, he hasn't done much lately to counteract such a summation of his skills. He's picked so many bad movies lately, you'd think he was Cuba Gooding Jr. post-Oscar.

What about Clerks II? He was good in that.

That was a cameo. Also, that movie wasn't exactly brilliant.

I'd rather pass judgement on this movie... or better yet, I'd rather pass on this movie.

I think they missed their window. The previews look way too goofy to be enjoyed by most adults, and I don't think kids can even find A&tC on the air anymore. No idea what they were thinking with this one.

Oh well, if any of you guys decide to go to this, I hope you enjoy it.

Well, from the previews and other advance things I've seen at movie theaters, it seems they are trying to give it a more modern feel, but I don't know how well that will work with the kids. Will likely be enough to kill any nostalgia element that would bring in adults, though. But then, it's just logical to assume that movie adaptations of TV shows will suck and/or fail. Some don't, of course, but they are a minority.

Aren't the chipmunks, like, all urban and hip?

Is that how you "moderinize" an old-school cartoon that everyone forgot about?
