    My rpgmaker 3 game's plot (uhh spolier for anyone that wants to play my game?)

    1st off im renaming it because it has nothing to do with Dragon Quest

    Dragon Quest: Gates of Chaos

    Oh no! the princess has been kidnapped, your king requests your aid. As you figure out where the princess is you also find out that there is a bigger scene going on, and the kidnapping of the princess was only a small piece of the grand plot formed by the evil wizard Lord Zarrok! You also find out that you are in the bloodline of 1 of 2 great sages (deceased long ago), suprisingly so is the princess. Zarrok has broken through the gate of chaos, and the only way to seal it up again is to obtain the god stone, a legendary gem that holds the power of the 2 sages, which in turn can only be activeated by the 2 sages. (meaning you and the princess have to use both your power to activate it.)

    what do you guys think? suggestions? comments?

    More information please.

    Sounds =/ to me so far, though. It's like a mix of the Shadow Hearts and Legaia 2 plots.

    What does breaking through the Gate of Chaos do? What's the end goal of this Zarrok dude? What were the other pieces of his plan? Why does the king request your aid specifically? Are you royalty? How do you discover the grand plot? Do you get the princess before Zarrok crashes through the Gate of Chaos?

      The gate is the only thing separating earth from hell, Zarrok was trapped behind it long ago for his mis-use of magic while trying to overthrow a kingdom. His end goal is to take control of the world in revenge. Some other pieces of the plan include raising an army, destroying the kings..kingdom, and going around the world until he has capitalized every kingdom. The king specifically asks the hero for help because he is the only one capable in the kingdom (Koto) to take a journey for more information concerning the princess's where-abouts. He can't send any of his men because a dragon was the one who attacked and abducted the princess, the king is afraid it might come back. You discover the grand plot when you are sent to the near-by town of Verill initialy seeking information about the princess, Aaron ( A werid phycic all knowing wizard) tells you about the bloodlines and teh god stone and the gate. Yes you get the princess before Zarrok comes through, without the princess you couldnt seal the gate.

        The fact that you and the Princess are the two sages is pretty neat, I guess. I'm a little tepid about any type of MacGuffin as a main plot element (some magical stone, in your case), and I personally don't like when you discover the "bigger plot" all at once--the events should flow organically. From just what you've written here, I'm not all that interested, but that doesn't mean you won't surprise me with something very good.

        Think about what you really want to accomplish with the plot and also with the gameplay--and then get working on it. Once you've got a little of your game on your memory card (though not necessarily set in stone), that's a good time to start hyping your game and what makes it unique. It's also a good time to start asking for advice and feedback.

            Yes, especially not having one sage tell you all of it at once. So if Zarrok hasn't passed through the gate yet, who are his pawns? What have they been promised?

            Why is the hero the only one capable? Has he fought in wars? Is he the bravest of all? Is he some nobody the King doesn't expect to come back?

            Just trying to get you to think about some of the details, the characters' motivation, etc;
