Favorite scenes in games.

There have been a lot of threads lately about video game character, but I want to know what is your favorite video game scene or moment? What makes the character or game so great? What quote have you taken to heart or just really thought was cool? What is a scene you found to be very powerful, the underlining moment of a game.

One of mine is from FF12. I overlook this game a lot, but when I think of the game all I think about is one scene. I guess I just really like Gabranth. He uses some very strong word. I had Goosebumps. It's kind of long. The part I like starts about 3 minutes in.

In FFX when Tidus talks to Kimahri after the failed machina battle.

Kimahri smiles for the first (and only time) in the game.
It was a turning point in the story. It shos that the most uptight of the characters has grown fond of him. Bringing the cast together even closer.

When on Noveria, you meet up with Benezia, Saren's right hand. If you have her daughter in your party, the scene is one of the saddest I have seen, as you have to kill her. She snaps out of her trance just long enough before dying to tell Liara that she has always been proud of her... it's quite touching, really. And as she is slumped over dying, Benezia says something along the lines of "What? They said it was going to be...." and dies. The delivery is masterful and heart-wrenching.

This was the first cut scene I had ever seen in a Playstation RPG.

To this date, it's the most thrilling sequence in the entire Wild Arms franchise.

Hmmm...I can really only think of one without being too generic.

A scene from a game not many people have heard about, Evolution Worlds.

There's a part in the game after this long sequence of battle against the army and the evil antagonist leader, and you just rescue one of the main characters, Linear. As you're escaping the ship, the main character, Mag, gets shot by the protagonist. There's a long scene afterwards, in which Linear rises up, destroys the enemies, and says the first line she actually has in the game.

Gives me shivers.

You seem defeated, Golbez has you just screwed. And then outta nowhere..."You can move now!" huh? HOLY **** IT'S RYDIA. And she's all grown up! And you use her to kick Golbez's ass! I thought she was gone.

One of the coolest moments in an RPG I've played...still to this day. Just so well executed. It still gives me chills.

YES. That series was one of my absolute favorites. I loved the final scene in Hybrid Heaven where you fight amongst the burning facility.

The big reveal in KotOR. You know the one I mean.

The scene with Wiegraf and Ramza after the Orbonne Monastery battles in chapter 3 of Final Fantasy Tactics (a pity they didn't anime up that one in the PSP version, though they added so much other stuff it's hard to complain too much). This game's final scene is also up there.

Taking on Liquid atop Rex in MGS. Pity the game didn't end there.

Aeris's departure from FF7. Of course.

Fighting Lavos in the Ocean Palace. Specifically, what happens in the likely event you lose (I'm trying to be vague here, in case some of y'all haven't played these games yet. But if you haven't, get on it).

The Star Wars-like armada battle in FFXII near the end. Frikkin' epic.
