It's a car commercial, and kinda bastardizes Kelly, but still...

I don't think I've ever actually seen the original clip, so this probably wasn't as meaningful to me.
But I can appreciate the way he moves his body.
Here's more, not Gene-Kelly-related (http://media.***********.com/index.php?e=robotdance.wmv)

I'm not sure how many of the original audience would appreciate that.
But it is certainly neat.
yeah, it's a conundrum marketing wise...those into the dancing prolly haven't seen the movie cuz it's too old, and those who have prolly hate what they did to it. Personally I think it's cool as hell.
Is that supposed to be his Singing in the Rain thing?

Yeah, except now he's a HIP-DADDY URBAN JACKASS.
:racism
I have mixed feelings. I love the original movie and the way they SORT OF convincingly altered his movement but... c'mon. Hip-hop? **** ME. All I could think about was the You Got Served South Park. They could've done something better. Besides, he looks like Neo from the Burly Brawl fight in Matrix 2 too often. "Look, I'm made with CG!"
The best thing about it was the music remix... kind of.
And using dead celebrities to sell a car... dunno if I like that. Don't think I do. Dead celebrities should stay dead for the most part. The way Sky Captain used Lawrence Olivier was kinda neat... KIND OF...
This all reminds me of when they got Fred Astaire to use the Swiffer Sweeper for the Superbowl.

That is pretty cool.
