Which have you played? What did you like/dislike about them? What type interests you more: fantasy, scifi, other?

Or short answer: World of Warcraft

Guild Wars is also good but technically (according to NCSoft anyway) not an MMORPG. :p

Do you like instanced game play? Do you like a focus on community? Do you like grinding endlessly? What do you like about MMOs you have played?

there is a free trial of City of Heroes/Villains on MMORPG.com right now. You should check that out, its a pretty good game, and works if you like comics at all, and if it asks who referred you, tell them "LionFranco".

hehe.

I'm playing WoW currently. If you want one of the best P2P MMOs out right now, then pick that up. If you want free MMOs then there are plenty of places to search for those. If you want more personal interaction while playing in a nice rpg world pick up Guild Wars.

WoW probably has the deepest PvP system, but in order to get the best stuff you have to be in a HARDKORE GILD.

Seconded, I just started playing it almost a week ago. One of the best f2p's out there imo.

i almost started downloading dungeon runners, til i realized it's like a super-Runescape with the free/member content. Pass TY
If im gonna play a free game online, the ENTIRE game should be free

All of the actual content is open to free members, it's just extra features that aren't:
Voice chat
Access to two additional pages in the bank for storing items, as where free members only receive one.
Stackable potions up to 10
Access to Rare (Gold), Epic (Purple) and Mythic(Rainbow) items
Login queue list priority
Access to the Member Only world
No Ads

aside from member-only skills and quests, that's about the same thing as runescape, cept RS doesnt have voice chat

Red Dragon is right--Guild Wars has the best PvP in any MMORPG out there right now. It's based on skill rather than grinding, and it has something for all levels of play. I love the absence of a monthly fee, too.

World of Warcraft is great if you like a relatively relaxing MMO without much grinding. And the world they've created is absolutely amazing. You have to play through it once.

Perv was telling me about an MMO called EVE Online recently. I looked it up on Wiki, and it looked absolutely awesome. Sci-Fi MMO where the players and organizations of players have huge amounts of control over what happens.

Doesnt EVE Online have horribly high system reqs? Also, ChaosKnight, what server are you on for PW?

And if you're looking for a Sci-fi RPG with some global PvP, try Rising Force.

I'm on Oracle.

The two characters I play is Evis, a level 17 Warrior and Magegasm, a level 9 Mage.

My computer runs it just fine. 32 mb video card and a gig of RAM. I can even play Guild Wars at the same time just fine and dandy.
