I did something really stupid.

Yesterday my mom drops me off at the house, gives me the keys, and drives off. I go inside, drop the keys and my backpack off, and go outside again to take the garbage bin in, closing the front door all the way.

When I get to the back, I the try the back door. But what I'm not expecting is for it to be locked, something I should have expected. I start cursing to myself, go back to the front door, and of course it doesn't open because it locks whenever you close it.

I locked myself out .

After considering several methods of breaking in, I realize that I have to wait an hour until my mom returns. As I'm pacing the sidewalk, I notice that the old lady next door is out doing her yard work. I eventually work up the courage to explain my situation and ask for a phone. She obliges, and after failing to contact my mom she invites me in.

There I watched some German TV until she changed it to FOX news. I decided to try calling my mom again, and she answers. She yells, "WHERE ARE YOU?!"

From this I infer that she's home. I explain and then head over, and apologize for worrying her so much.

Next time, I think I'll be more careful about shutting that front door.

Im lucky I live on the first floor of my apartment. Ive locked myself out about twice now in the last year. I can just get in through my window. What sucks is that my windows are on the front of thye building, so everybody and their mother can see me pop the screen out and climb through. The police havent shown up so far!

I've done that a couple times. More often though I get locked out because my mother borrows my key after losing hers. She's always losing keys and she's hardly ever home so that has led to me being locked out quite a bit. I usually walk to a relative's house until she gets home.

Whenever my friend would lock himself (or us) out of the old house, I'd have to maneuver myself through this one window that could be opened about 1/4 of the way. It was also blocked on the side by the giant fish tank, so I barely had enough room to fit. Since no one else could do it (and it was not a very comfortable procedure), I'd usually go help myself to a soda or something before letting anyone else inside.

Fun times.

Home in Jersey, we keep our house unlocked most of the time, as well as our cars. I don't even have my own set of keys. If I ever find the door to be locked, I just get in through the garage.

However, there was a period of time when whatever powered the garage door was busted, and I locked myself out. I had to pry open the window to Magus' room to get in. He was sleeping there at the time. I forget if I woke him or not.

i'd tell one of my "locked out" stories, but it would be a total violation of forum decency rules.



so i locked myself out of my car a few times! luckily, it's easy to break in to.
