    Quick question about a Party

Is the limit of people four, or can you have people that don't fight but are still in the party (like the Tales of series)?

So you've played that too, eh?

You could have it like that, but it's basically you saying that they're in your party, and you can't switch them out without activating an event.

    Basically, nothing changes.

Yeah, you need to switch them in and out through events. It's not like the Tales series where you can freely choose your party at any time besides battle. I think it's more like the FF7 system, if I remember that correctly, where you could only swap your party members at selected points.

And yes, you can give your players the freedom to choose their party members themselves at these points. Either use a "room" that the player is transported to, where each "character" (NPC) they talk to is an event that can add or drop the Player Character from their party, or use an event with a series of modes that iterates through the available characters and asks you if you want to add/remove them or not. Either way, you need to confirm that character is already "in your available party" before showing/asking about them. It would be a little weird for a player to be able to put Yuffie into their party during his first 5 hours in Midgar, after all!

That sucks. Oh well. You don't really need a party in my game until you fight the Summon Spirts. I'll do that "Party Room" thing. Now that I think about it, you never really need party members (they'll just make things easier).

Hey, is your game based off of the Tales games, by any chance? (All I've heard of is Tales of Symphonia)

Nope. It's based off of an RPG my friends and I made a long time ago. The "final" boss is also a Summon Spirt. Time (we had a lack of creativity in naming him). I'm adding more after you beat him though.

I really didnt like Yuffie... I was happy when she was losing her lunch in the air. Is that wrong?

If you have ever plaued Chrono Trigger than you should just steal there idea. Where you can trade off at the one point in between time periods.

Unlike Chrono Trigger and FF7, however, people NOT in the party will NOT gain experience/levels from the party killing/maiming/otherwise defeating critters/bosses/etc.
