    I hate Nintendo...

    I always regarded Nintendo as the LEAST evil of the corporate videogame entities. That all changed when the recharger cord to my DS was accidentally cut. I went to all the game stores and Walmart to look for a new one, only to be told repeatedly that Nintendo stopped making accessories for the DS when the DS Lite came out.

    This is total bull****! This just seems like a backhanded tactic to get people to "upgrade" (and I use that term loosely, seeing as the DS Lite is in no way different from the DS, only smaller). It seems like they went out of their way to make sure nothing on the DS and DS Lite match. Ass*****!

    Does the DS Lite cable actually not work with the DS? Then just go online and find a cable. I doubt Miyamoto is up in office rubbing his hands together because he finally got one over on Ivan Rosenguard.
    The Cyclops having only one eye, needed to seek shelter from the harsh sun. The shadow cast by the spheres gave him temporary respite.

      The DS cable is the same as the GBA cable, I believe. Look for one of those as well if you're having trouble.

        Lite and DS/GBA are different. Least some guy told me that at RadioShack.

          DS/GBA charge cables are exactly the same, except for the system name on the adapter.

          I use a GBA charge cable for my DS whenever I'm at my sister's house.

            Yeah, they have a different plug. The GBA/DS one is that big thick rectangular one with the round notch in the middle while the DS Lite one is thin and round.

            Edit: Yeah, and Valk beat me to it, even though I think Straighty was saying the same thing.

              oh screw that, i'm glad i have 3 of those then, so something like this doesnt happen to me.

              you should check ebay.

                They still sell them on Shop Nintendo refurbished ($7.50) and new ($9.95) so it seems they do still make them. They probably just stopped sending them out when retailers stopped asking for new stock.

                  Also, there IS a difference between the DS and the DS Lite besides the Lite being smaller. Put the two side by side, and if you don't notice how much better the screen on the DS Lite makes the graphics appear, you should get a restriction on your driver's license.

                  If there was no difference, I WOULD NOT have invested another $129 in a pink DS Lite less than a year after I bought my original DS. Which is a moot point now, as I've not touched it since I got my Xbox 360.

                      Actually, I was jonesing for a DS Lite, and all I could find anywhere was a pink one. So I bought one from my work, and then a few days later, Gamestop had the black and white ones in. I decided that even though I had not opened the box of my pink one yet, I decided to keep it.

                          Only real men play with pink DS'.

                          But I am too cheap. I got a big, clunky, broken, phat DS.

                          And I still loves it.

                            i agree with this grump. trying to find replacement styli for my brick after the lite came out was impossible. "WE NO LONGER CARE ABOUT YOU!" nintendo screamed at me. "THANKS FOR BUYING OUR SYSTEM EARLY WHEN WE NEEDED THE SUPPORT. NOW GO DIE!"
