ocean attacks

how do you ocean attacks..about 1 in a 100 times i get attacks from "ocean" monsters when near water.. the rest of the time i get desert monsters.rpg m3

No body really has the answer to this. You're lucky you get it to work at all. I cannot. I guess it's all about experimenting. If you figure it out please let us know.

I THINK it has to do with the elevation. If it's JUST above where you'd have water (i.e. you're on "beach"), it will give you the Ocean battles. I'm not sure, though--some people here have a lot more experience with randoms than I do.

Well, I think if you have any desert and a beach on the same map, they combine the monsters with each other, so desert monsters on beaches and beach monsters on desert, I think.

Like everyone else said, you get a beach (ocean monsters) when you draw the land within a few feet of the water (in elevation).

Doj maybe right about the desert and the beach mixing too.

nope, beach and desert are 2 different things, they just use the same tileset

Just have ocean creatures attack on the beach.

One thing to keep in mind here is that you have to walk right next to the TERRAIN of water, not just water that is there because of the elevation settings. You have to edit the map and actually draw the water next to where you want the beach battles to occur.
