    I'm behind the times.

I just got Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360, and realized that some of those achievements are gimmes, not that they aren't in a lot of games. But you get ten achievement points just for reading the credits. Actually, I did have a question for those of you who have the 360 version, and have played GH previously...the first achievement I "earned" in the game is one for failing a song on Easy. Well, it was the first song I played after the tutorial, and I had never even held the guitar controller in my hands before, let alone actually played the game. So my question is, would you rather be a completist, and get ALL of the achievements for the game, or purposely NOT get the 10 points for failing on Easy, as it looks a little embarassing?

The game is a BIT easier than I thought it would be, actually. I told myself in the past that I would never buy it because my hand-eye dexterity are not all that great. But I started playing it, and began to have some problems. It wasn't until like the third song that I realized everything was backwards (I play leftie). So I went into the options menu, and changed it to leftie. Then I began to do better, although for some reason, Heart Shaped Box on Easy is still hard for me (ie-I've not completed it yet), even though 4 out of the 5 songs on the next "tier" I've completed.

Also, when people talk about five-starring a song, I'm guessing this fact gets saved somewhere...so are you talking about in Career mode, or on Quick Play? I five-starred Surrender on Easy on my fourth try.

People fail a song set to Easy on purpose for the points. No one will care if you have it or not.

Other games have achievements (usually secret) where you get 0 points for doing badly, so you could skip that and still get 1000 for doing everything else.

The difficulty is called "easy" for a reason.

I thought it was funny that you were practicing Heart Shaped Box because that has to be the easiest song. Like, gold-stars-on-expert-isn't-so-amazing easy.

Surrender, that Rancid song, and Mother to me are FAR easier.

              Mother by Danzig?

I wasn't aware any good songs were on those games.
Everytime I ever played I had to sit through horrible drawn out songs that I could not stand.

An update: I've pretty much only been working, sleeping, and playing Guitar Hero these past few days. But I have a question that I hope someone can answer...I read a few FAQs for the game, and it lists encore songs for each "tier," but does not tell you how to unlock them. However, in career mode, I "beat" each song to unlock the next tier, but no encore songs have thus far appeared. Do you need to five-star each song in each tier for the encore song to appear? And if you want to get the achievement for refusing an encore, is it possible to unlock it later? I saw nothing about either of these things in the FAQs I read.

Also, I used the cheat to open all the songs (even though you are not able to save the game), and played a few in "harder" tiers, and actually found some of them easier than the ones in the current tier I've currently got legitimately unlocked. Case in point-I STILL can't beat the Butthole Surfers' song, but I played the Buckethead song (granted, it was on easy, but I DID hear that this was one of the hardest songs in the game), and (and I STILL don't know how I did this), I five-starred it on my first try.

Due to the addictive nature of playing these songs, and there being so few downloads for GHII, I ended up buying GHIII today. Luckily enough, I was online on Live on Thanksgiving night, and managed to download that Halo mix for free.

That's all for now. If anyone can answer my questions, I'd appreciate it.

No, just move up to a harder difficulty.
