    Fire Pro Wrestling Returns!

... and from everything I'm seeing, it kicks total ass.

I never knew it had 8-player multiplayer. Reading the back of the box opened my eyes to look into more of it. 327 wrestlers with 500 character slots for edits? Not to mention a ton of moves and the edit system is SUPER detailed. And an actual logic system for A.I. allowing you to not only make a wrestler's appearance and moves, but pretty much recreate a personality that shines through in the fighting?

Is it true that there is no button mashing like in Smackdown? Is it true that it relies on strategy and timing? So it feels more like you're actually... playing a fighting game, rather than a generic button masher?

I don't have the cash to pick it up, so I'm asking the people here. Misty, Kire, you guys know something about it right? I think I remember you guys talking about it waaaay back when Valk said that agetec dude was talking about it.
    Keep the change.

You can also customize the referees, rings, logos, and belts.

I got it. It's great! But, I'm a long time fan of firepro.

Yes, it's all timing based, and you have to start w/ weak moves and work your way up or it will get reversed.

          Re: Fire Pro Wrestling Returns!

Got it for $18.34 with my employee discount. It shocked me that it was $19.99.

This game is a BLAST! So far we've only done 4-player, and 8-player with 4 CPU, but it's got a great grappling system for multiple opponents.

The character creation is in depth, but it feels like the appearance aspect is lacking. Having a hard time recreating old characters I've used on other wrestling titles. Tons of faces, a good deal of face accessories, but semi-limited accessories for the rest.

Unless me and all my friends are doing something wrong, the hit detection for strike moves sucks total ass. And the running moves take some getting used to. But the grappling is fantastic.

Got it last night and already made four people, and fine-tuned one of them to a point I think I'm happy with it. Still updating appearances, color schemes, moves, and stats as I see fit. One day I'm gonna do their CPU logic, but not now.

Where as Smackdown was fun for me and my friends because of create a character and the general multiplayer mayhem, I actually think the grapple system in this game is fun and worth using. Actually feels more like playing a game than mashing buttons.

Anyone who hasn't tried this game, and likes wrestling games, is doing themselves an injustice. Especially for $20. By no means perfect, but better than some of the rehashed garbage on shelves now. And TONS of create a character slots, as well as some slots for referees, belts, rings, and custom logos that reminds me of the Armored Core logo system. Or any pixel logo maker in a video game really.
          Keep the change.

I hunted down the disc for this last year but cool to know it's up for digital download. Tons of customizable options, I just wish it had online.

It doesn't appear to be on the Vita's PS Store. So I'm guessing, no.

Definitely. I would totally play this with other Pavvies. We could have even made a standardized Pavilion Wrestling League.

I had this game on PS2 twice. It's a blast messing around with the ridiculous amount of options this game has. It's also cool to see the CAW versions of real life guys that people have submitted on sites like caws.ws.
