Pause screen & LIFE restore

Hello all! I've been playing RPG Maker 2 since this summer, and recently I've compiled many scripts and info on the internet, and I am making a custom battle system MGS game. I've created a gun shooting system that kills enemies, and also a LIFE bar at the top just like in MGS that loses health as you're hit by guards. I've created a crawl system, 3d camera system, and a save system. However, I am having trouble creating a pause screen, and I can't seem to get my LIFE bar to restore unless I die. Any tips or help?
BTW: For the pause screen, I get the screen to darken, and it says PAUSE accross the screen, but it won't stop noise or the guards shooting at me. Help please?
Also, I need a good running script, something that will make my character speed up by pressing the O Button, and then, another press slows him down. (I have custom controls)
MY CONTROLS:
L3-Zoom out
R3-Zoom in
R1 or R2-Spin Camera right
L1 or L2-Spin camera left
Square Button-Fire Weapon
X Button-Move into Crawl Mode
Triangle Button-Stand up again
D-Pad or Left Analog Stick-Move Snake
*O Button-Hopefully, this will operate my running script

So things I would like to have:
-Solution to PAUSE Screen
-LIFE restore by picking up rations, and having the rations dissapear
-running script
-Also, any way I could have an ingame clock to keep track of players' time, you know, for speed runs?

Could you guys please help me? I've been trying to solve it myself, but nothing is working. I can't advance creation wise, and it would be too hard to play the whole game without restoring life. Please?

I don't play RPG Maker 2 except to play other people's games, but here's a good thread about working clock in RPG Maker 2.

You don't need to triple post to bump a topic in a forum where the thread will probably not leave the first page for months. A lot of people here (for better or for worse) are actively working with RPGM3. The RPGM3 Workshop forum is pretty active. This forum, not as much. You'll need to give it time. If someone here knows how to do what you're asking (I certainly don't), they'll eventually respond. You also might want to check out Doan the Nado's site, as it's pretty much geared exclusively toward RPGM2 users. I think there's a link on the front page of the Pavilion (click the banner with the pics of all three RPGMs at the top of the page).

k ill tell you how i did my pause if you tell me how to make a botton do some thing
how to like if i want to press X and a visle effect happerns like i press x agin and a sword swings from the visle effect happerns if you tell me ill tell you all you need to know about pause oh i i think you i also know how to make the health
