It was going to be an alternative way to obtain items, and the only way to obtain the eternal items
THE WITCHES CAULDRON
Find items by defeating monsters in the field, some items are rarer to find then others, you will have access to the Witches Cauldron after finding the crystal ball on B4.
Cauldron of Restoration
Elixer + Ruby = X Potion
Elixer + Sapphire = X M-Potion
Elixer + Black Onyx = Revive
Elixer + Crystal Shard = Wind Crystal
Cauldron of Perfection
Chipped Diamond x3 = Flawed Diamond
Flawed Diamond x3 = Diamond
Diamond x3 = Flawless Diamond
Flawless Diamond x3 = Perfect Diamond
Cauldron of Eternity
Perfect Diamond x2 + Ruby = Eternal X Potion
Perfect Diamond x2 + Sapphire = Eternal X M-Potion
Perfect Diamond x2 + Black Onyx = Eternal Revive
Perfect Diamond x2 + Crystal Shard = Eternal Wind

BUT now I cant use more then 1 treature, and I cant use variables because its random battles...

Not if you win them from random battles, because if you get into 3 fights with the same monster he'll give you the same treasure item, I already thought about that, and realized it wouldnt work

Ok I see what you're saying. I actually do think it's possible with veriables. I'll try to explain my THEORY. Might not work??? Have each of the shards sapphire's etc... represent a different var. Say in a RE you find a chipped diamond. Have an auto event on the field that plays only when you have the chipped diamond. Make it increase the var it represents by one and then take the treasure item away from you that way you can find it again. You would have to do it with every item though.
The biggest problem I see is it will take 8 or 9 different events depending on how many materials you have. It is memory consuming and I don't know who many events you already have in the areas they are dropped. It should work though.
I hope you could understand what I meant. Sounds like a cool idea so I hope this works for it.

I see what you mean but how would the player know how much they have? Actually that wouldnt work with the arena idea either
Is there anyway to check items in a condition? I dont think there is...
I could always use different gems and use those in place of the x2 and x3...like:

I think you could show how many you have, but not in the main menu. You would have to go talk to someone or like an event. Make like a sign or person and have "It" ask if you want to see how many... Crap! You would have to do my idea for each item. Still there is a way I can think of, but it would take a big chunck of memory. I think your idea of just making more items would work fine. If you want to know my idea just ask. Not including it right now because it would take some time to type.

You cant display variable values, unless thats not what you were implying

Yeah I was going to say have an event that has val-condition branch with the max of four. Each one the var increases by 1. Then have a display message that tells you the number. You could put another one after it so it can go as high as you like, but it would like I said take space. And I'm pretty sure thats what you implied. Either way I wouldn't give up on it because it sounds cool.

Oh by the way your Book of Life mission is complete, the pages are in the dungeon, the towns name is Aruna and its an old town with a huge shrine
The thing I like about the game is that I can add/take out missions without disrupting the layout of the game whatsoever, and still stay within the storyline
