Fun fact: The official reason for my discharge from the army is a suicide attempt although there never actually was one. It was mostly a series of misunderstandings caused by me being too honest. But all's well that ends well.
It is okay... Things will look up sooner or later. No need to pull the plug already.
Although if you would have stayed this is what would have happened to you when the sniper shot you in the head. ---------
Way to takes things out of context and completely ignore the second half of his "fun fact".
But I am curious as to what these misunderstandings could be that derived from your being too honest. And how they concluded a suicide attempt. But maybe another time.

Interestingly enough, mine was too. But not really. It was kind of like, "God, I could just kill myself after the day I had." And because some other kid killed himself, like, a week before, that got down the line and they said I had "passive suicidal thoughts", and was sent home. All in all for the best, but man, funny how these things work out, eh?
According to the article, veterans are about twice as likely to commit suicide, and if you include suicides on active duty, it becomes a bit higher.
And that's horrible--senseless loss of life is just the worst, most tragic and saddening thing there is.
But I guess it's to be expected once you've seen the atrocities of war. You know, this isn't much of a reason to call off a war, but really, maybe the military should stop all its "the Army will give you the strength to be a great person" bull**** advertising.
It might be the people enrolling for reasons like that, that are most prone to risk. I'm certainly no psychologist and I don't have proof that that's correct, but it does seem to make sense.
For me it was a desperate attempt to get money for school and just to get the hell out of my mother's house. Now, I'm in school with no idea how I'm going to repay my student loans and still in my mother's house daily wishing either of us would die so I wouldn't have to deal with her any more. So, I guess the whole situation didn't end too well at all in the long run.
