Do either of your parents have some sort of illness?

My mother has Lupus and is going to start chemotherapy in a week or two and I don't know, I was just wondering if anyone else had a sick parent. The doctors don't give my mom more than a year or two so.....it sucks to say the least. My father also has some sort of ailment that neither him nor the doctors can tell what it is, it seems to be some form of arthritis where he can't bend at the waist or his joints lock up randomly. Some days he doesn't get out of bed except for dinner or to smoke. He won't quit smoking, regardless of how much I ask him. I saw this today and it just made me think about it all. I'm okay and I don't need anyone to talk to, but if anyone else just needs a shoulder to lean/cry on, I'd be more than happy to be there for you.

My mom has all sorts of problems

She has a chemical imbalance in her brain now from all the blood thinners and meds she has to take, shes on 2 different meds to keep her brain chemicals balanced.

She needs a liver transplant, and has to take 4 different medicines for that

The two arteries that goes to her brain(cant remember what theyre called) has both been bypassed, one was 75% blocked and the other was 70%

There was an artery somewhere in her body that was 85% blocked, and they ended up removing an artery from her right arm to replace it.

She has multiple tubes/wires/machines in her that helps regulate multiple body functions.

Her lungs are severely weakened from smoking for 40 years(she dont do it anymore after a scare with lung cancer)

Shes had triple bypass surgery.

And various other things, recently shes been progressing instead of deteriorating, so hopefully she still has quite a bit of fight left in her

My Dad had his left nut removed when they found cancer on it recently. hes still waiting on tests to see if it may have formed anywhere else.

Im also just counting the days till he becomes diabetic with the amount of chocolate things he eats.

Mostly just DIABEETUS.

And hypothyroidism.

My Mum's deaf due to chronic ear infections throughout her life. And she has sickle cell trait from her father.

I'm sorry about your mommy, Alto.

My mom has been HIV+ for about ten years, and a couple years ago lapsed into full blown AIDS. Besides that time when her immune system basically fell apart, she's pretty healthy. Healthy enough to have a baby a year ago. My sister is doing perfectly healthy, so that's good...

I haven't seen my dad in a couple years, but he's pretty mentally ill. (paranoia, etc)

My old man has rumatory arthritis and had his right leg amputated after a car crash.

My dad is in remission from Stage IV melanoma. It's come back twice before, but hopefully this time it's gone for good?

My condolences to everyone in this topic. Illness sucks.

My Dad has heart disease, which he gets from his dad. He has had three heart attacks and survived everyone. Thank god.

He doesn't look like he'd be the type to have heart disease either, he doesn't smoke, and he looks healthy as an ox.

After his third heart attack, the doctors were amazed that he was still walking around just fine seeing how clogged his arteries were. He underwent corinary artery bypass surgery half a year ago. Nows he's doing a lot better.

Now I pretty much hang out with my Dad all the time. He is in fact my best friend, and one of the funniest poeple I know.

Oh yeah, and I think my Mom is bipolar or something. She's a psychotic whore.

Yeah get all the time in you can with your dad, unfortunately you dont get a second chance to do that if something should happen
