Guild Wars upgrades 50% off SALE

I know only aorund 2-3 people here play Guild Wars, thought I would bring it up anyhow.

All the skillpacks and the item pack are 50% off, so if you buy them all you can get every skill and item unlocked in the game for $30 instead of the usual 60. Or if you only want/need one they are only $5 each...

Just thought I would let everyone know...

Heh, that's definitely interesting, thanks for sharing.

I usually just buy the stuff by accumulating faction in PvP, but there are a few unlock packs (Elementalist, in particular--the useful skills are scattered all over in that profession) that I might consider buying.

I think they said that they plan to have all the unlocks immediately open for Structured PvP (which is like the current PvP) in Guild Wars 2. I think that's awesome. But it seems like the new PvP types (such as Epic PvP) will play more by WoW rules than by the rules we GW fans are used to.

Unfortunately, i dont play GuildWars enough to put anymore money into it. With as long as the game has been out, i have never even been CLOSE to finishing the Prophecies (the first) Campaign.

It's free to play if that is what you mean. All the areas are instances, thus they are private I guess.

Ugh, I went to buy some unlock packs and realized it goes by EXPANSION rather than class. So maybe I'll plunk $10 to buy all the Nightfall and Prophecies skills, just to quicken things a bit, or something. I do think they're just a tad greedy to not include the Runes and Weapon Grips along with the other unlock packs, but I guess I can't complain too much considering I don't have to pay a monthly fee.

The Business Model they set up is incredible. I love it.

Is that last sentence sarcasim? I can't tell.

I bought the Items unlock pack (the runes, grips and what-not) and the Factions unlock pack.

I actually am loving the assassin in competative missions right now. 12345678

If you tihnk about it I would rather have it go by expansion because $5 a class buying all the classes would be around $80 for all of them ($40 with the sale) instead of $60 ($30 with the sale).

                  I play Guild Wars...

I finished Prophecies and started Eye of the North... Then I got bored and haven't played for a month... My main account is "Lord Cohliani" just like my screen name...

No, I didn't mean it sarcastically at all. They let you really get involved in the game but they don't force you to commit with a monthly fee due to the heavy instancing. Then they sell you the stand-alone expansions, which cost a lot but provide huge amounts of new content. It's a weird twist on the loyalty model but I think it works beautifully. I've spent ~$150 on GW so far and it still feels like I've gotten great value, perhaps because I'll have it forever.

So far I haven't bought any unlocks with cash. Might change my mind. But the reason I don't like the "by campaign" structure is because I've already unlocked most of the useful skills--regardless of expansion--for Elementalists, Monks, and Mesmers--and to a lesser extent, Dervishes, Assassins, and Necromancers. If I could just buy one or two Professions, I'd have almost everything I want. As it stands I've gotta spend $25 if I want to complete any classes, which still isn't that bad, I've gotta admit.
