Mikochan came up with a good point, and I have also been wondering. Since this generation of consoles is 128 bit what will the next consoles be? I haven't heard one thing concerning bits and that’s all they used to say back in the day. Will it double its bit value like it has been doing which would be 256 bits? And what the hell is a bit anyway?

Re: 256 Bit Consoles???
I think we wound up skipping a generation...
NES/Master System (8-bit)
SNES/Genesis (16-bit)
N64/PlayStation (32- or 64-bit?)
GameCube/PS2 (128-bit)"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

As I understand it though, PS1 was 32-bit."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: 256 Bit Consoles???
Ah well, we can still call the next generation the 256-bit generation, like we call this one the 128-bit generation. Makes it easier that way. I mean, what else would we call it?"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

Re: 256 Bit Consoles???
The Genesis did 24 bits shortly after, did it not? And the 32X was, well, 32-bit, right?
Am I just stupid?
And I never regarded this generation of consoles as 128-bit generation. It was the NextGen Generation to me, because it was the first time I heard things referred to as Next Generation consoles."Mindless killing doesn't do a lot for me anymore." - Sampson

Okay, stupid question, if you call this generation the NextGen Generation, what do you call the generation with PS3, Xbox Next, and Revolution? It was the NextGen Generation to me, because it was the first time I heard things referred to as Next Generation consoles."What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change.
