Fighting Actual Charaters

Yeah, so I was wondering if you could fight actual people, not just monsters. I've been playing around with it, but I don't see anything that will allow me to do that. Help?

You want to go into event codes, and select:
Control>Character Battles.

And before you ask, no you can't have characters in random battles, only in event battles.
