If my understanding is correct, this will be a movie based on a book, meaning there will be some things that get cut out. I want to see the movie, but should I read the book first? And would you say the book is as funny as the movie seems like it will be?

Re: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The five volume trilogy (Adams only planed to write 3 books but people kept demanding more) start out very funny but lose steam near the end. You can tell the author lost any interest in the last novel. Every incarnation of the story (radio, TV (BBC), novels, and movie) were written by Adams and were changed each time. The first novel is the best of all the versions in my option. If you don't laugh out loud I'll give you your money back.Originally posted by DraygoneIf my understanding is correct, this will be a movie based on a book, meaning there will be some things that get cut out. Re: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Oh, so is the movie going to be like the Unfortunate Events movie/books and combine some of the novels into one movie, or does it only focus on one book, or do you know?
Since it was originally intended to be a trilogy, does it only lose steam starting with the fourth book, or does it do so beforehand?"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."
