    Virtual Xbox

Microsoft's finally jumping on the download BC games bandwagon. The 360 Fall update brings with it the ability to download original Xbox games from Live Marketplace. First games will be Halo, Indigo Prophecy, Fable, Crimson Skies, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex and Burnout 3. 1200 MS points (aka $15) each.

    I wonder...
How often will they update and how many games will be added each time?
Will they be able to offer games that aren't BC by disc?
Can't you probably find these used cheaper than $15?

I would see the appeal 2-3 years from now when you can't find these games. It is neat however.

This should've been their BC strategy long ago. The software update approach was stupid, compared to Sony's hardware approach.

They didn't really have a choice. Microsoft let nVidia retain the rights to the chip architecture so hardware BC wasn't an option. Looks like hardware BC will probably be a thing of the past soon anyway.

This would make more sense in a game drought, but it's a cool option nonetheless. It's much easier (and more tempting) to pay for via credit card and download it then go to your local game sellery and pick it up (if you can even find it). I wouldn't mind playing Halo, Fable, or Indigo Prophecy myself.

I'm sure you'll still be able to find these games for a lot longer than that. It's not like they weren't popular when they came out, so I'm sure there will still be lots of copies floating around for at least 5-10 more years. It just won't be quite as convenient as downloading it off XBL.

If you have just the 20GB hard drive you're better off getting the hard copy anyway. No sense forcing yourself to delete games just because your actual 360 games need to install hefty quantities of data to your HD.

This would make sense if there were good X-Box games. Ba-zing!

I used to buy original Xbox games like they were going out of style. I mean, you CANNOT deny the quality of Forza, KOTOR, Fable, Jade Empire, among others.

Plus, there are games that look and play a hell of a lot better on the Xbox than on the PS2, such as Gladius, Psychonauts, Indigo Prophesy, GTA, etc.
