For some reason, all I could think of is Sheridan from Lunar Knights. He looks like a cool guy, but he sounds like the most weasly little prick.

Mome (PSO)- You have to escort this hapless loser through the caves and keep him alive while fighting one of the worst bosses. Also, he sucks at everything.

Douglas (SH3)- They needed a way to get Heather to Silent Hill, so they introduced the world's worst detective.

Relm from FF3 (SNES FF6), not only was her role infectiously annoying, her ability is weak and causes debug glitches 50% of the time.

Heh....in the Xbox version of Episode 1 and 2, when you get to the boss battle (De Rol Le, I think), he tells you right before the battle starts that he's gonna play dead, or something to that effect, and basically flops down on the raft, and you have a normal boss battle without having to try to keep him alive.

I honestly don't know if it's a good or a bad thing that they did this. It kinda defeats the entire purpose of keeping him alive that whole time, just to have you fight another standard boss battle.
