I finally made the switch from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox this morning but was wondering if anyone had any add-on suggestions that I should try?

If you do any web development, look for some of those tools. It's really handy to be able to switch things in and out.
I really enjoyed Mouse Gestures with my touch pad. It made browsing real easy.
SpeedDial is pretty neat. I don't use it hardly as much as I thought I would, though.
And of course, if you're missing IE badly, you could always use the IE Tab add on.

NoScript hasn't steered me wrong, yet.
If you get nostalgic for IE, there's always IE Tab.Oh my god! You are so beautiful.

The Web Developer extension is amazing, but I'm starting to get used to FireBug. But I don't think you'll need either.
I only have three add-ons, and they're FireBug, Ad-Block, and BetterSearch which gives google results and del.icio.us lists previews.
Really, I'd keep the extensions down to an absolute minimum.Comment

a web developer extension? im going to have to check that out. other then the add blocker i dont have any plugins or addons for firefox. having too much going on will slow down your load times, so keep your plugins to a min.Comment

What no Image Zoom, craziness, zooming in on images is so awesome.
Hmm what else
ColorZilla (use a color dropper on any part of a page)
PageStyle2Tab (cool little addon that makes the tabs have the style of the page, making finding a page much easier)
Tabbrowser Preferences (really should be part of FF but isn't yet)
And if you want to learn Japanese, or attempt to stumble through translating a Japanese site, RikaiChan.Comment
