OK I was originally going to do a Phantom of the Opera game in RPGM 2 but I don't have the time or experience to work with RPGM 2. So I want to know what everyone out there wants out of a game. I want to make a game in RPGM 3 but I really don't have an idea to run with. So if someone can inspire me please help!

Re: Please inspire me
I like games that doesnt have a long storyline but a ton of sidequests that gives you rare items.
I'm probably one of the only people who'll play 1,000 random battles just to get 1 rarely dropped item off of a monster
my game has 40 monsters and every monster have a different rare item that is "Almost Never" dropped

I'm completely the opposite. I HATE random rare drops, I have better things to do with my time that try to get a 1/256 drop from a rare monster that shows up 1/64th of the time.
Even so, the game I'm working on now will have lots and lots of monster drops. Not super rare drops (RPGM1 doesn't go below 1% anyway), but enough to make things interesting. The game's magic system is partially based on getting those drops, and I don't want the stuff to be too rare, but i don't want them to be insanely common either. I want the player to feel like it's worth the time spent looking for the items.

Re: Please inspire me
if i didnt get it the first run through then i wont have it. if i have to kill something 1 trillion times to get an item, chances are i am already over powered and dont need it anyway. i also lob those idiot ultimate weapons up with this, why bother wasting your time to get it if you have nothing overly buff to use it on?

I like to have 1 save file where I have everything in the game or something like that. But on replays I'm doing for fun, I'll skip stuff I don't need.Originally posted by Karr Lord of Chaos View Postif i didnt get it the first run through then i wont have it. if i have to kill something 1 trillion times to get an item, chances are i am already over powered and dont need it anyway. i also lob those idiot ultimate weapons up with this, why bother wasting your time to get it if you have nothing overly buff to use it on?
I hate overleveling from hunting rare drops too.
And I agree about the ultimate weapons. It's nice if the best weapons in the game have great abiltites that make them must have items, but not if they make the game ridiculously easy. That goes double for rare hard to get ultimates that make the game too easy.

Re: Please inspire me
-An "angel" goes out and must kill six warriors.
-A girl (or boy) must bring a sword to some "crossroads river" in some ancient land and stab it into the water, thus reveiving his/her dying world. Some bad guy stry to stop this person.
-A thief, when raiding a pyramid, accidentally frees an ancient evil conceiled inside and must stop it from conquering (or destroying) the world. And maybe the thief is forced to do this.
-A soldier going to Iraq in our world is somehow teleported to a fantasy world, where the soldier must stop an evil.
Just tryin' to feed ya somthin', man.
Oh, wait. You have an idea. Didn't see that post. Ah, well. Hope your game works!

Re: Please inspire me
Make a game about a lone island, in a world without any other land forms, and the city on this island. Have the city be sectional, divided by rivers.
The conflict is that their is precious little wood and drinking water on this island.
The rich people/military control the last remaining old world forest, and the only freshwater spring is in the poor district.
Make fishing a central part of the gameplay, turning up rare items and fish, which can be sold/cooked/and used in magic.
That could work....Pretty good for ten seconds of brainstorming. And make the protagonist poor."My heart just wouldn't be in it you know. Don't have one."--Axel, KH:2
