Pretty good idea!

Hi, guys! I know, this is like the millionth idea I've had so far, but I like to post my ideas!! So here it is:

There is a young boy in a castle/town called Tragic, named Dirune Shashimako, and then a CEO of a corporation called Legend Corp. comes at night and kills the boy mother because she got in the way. So, you battle against and lose in one shot, but you still gain exp. Then you go into the castle and yells because he has no more family and the crystal of Kuraga and the Book of Sorrows is gone. Then he has a funeral for his dead mother.


I already made a demo that my sister likes. So, I need a better name than the book of Sorrows. Do you guys think you can give me some ideas?

You haven't gave us much to go off of. But Book Of Sorrows actually sounds good to me.

I don't like this one. Evil CEO is so cliche, parent being killed at the beginning is even more cliche, the main character is way too ordinary to take on a quest like this, and it doesn't seem like you have a lot of story leads to go on.

Now, it's possible to make this kind of story into pure gold--Ghost in the Shell pulls this kind of stuff sometimes and it all feels completely fresh, because they mix it up with a lot of intrigue (political, sociological, psychological, and technological), and because they work in action sequences that are not only kickass, but also appropriate and well-paced.

It could be that you just haven't given the appropriate detail. You don't need to spoil anything or write a novel--but make sure you do mention the interesting elements of story's plot when you describe it. Or this might just be one of your weaker ideas to date, because I've really liked some of them.

Obviously it will be a while before even pro games match the intellectual and visceral beauty of GitS.

But that doesn't mean we can't take big steps in the right direction. Check out Ivan Rosenguard's game for a good example of a setting with some intrigue.

Well actually there is more, because he meets people (of course) that settles his anger with Gakil, so now he tries to stop him from summoning the Legendary Kuraga. By the way, there are 3 types of Legends: Legends, Legendary, and Secret Legends. But Gakil summons her anyway (Kuraga), and since he has evil energy in him, she starts to turn to Helonos, the evil spirit energy. So, uh yeah.

P.S. Valkysas, what so odd about Dirune Shashimako? Just a question.
