    Good vs. Evil: NFL style

    Is anyone else jazzed about this Sunday's game? It's going to be HUGE.

    Naturally, I'm going to be glued to my television (at least until I have to go to work ) rooting for good ol' evil.

      Shows you haven't been following the NFL this season

      Good = The Colts.

      Evil = The Patriots.

        Another question from someone who obviously isn't very educated in sports, why are the Colts good and the Patriots evil?

          YES, WHY ARE WE EVIL?

          Is it the way we crush teams and don't stop for mercy?

            Why?

            Take 1.

            Take 2.

            I realize now my wording in the first post is unclear. I am completely in evil's corner for this one.

              Nah, it has a lot to do with that whole CHEATING scandal. Remember that? Earlier in the year the Patriots were caught videotaping the opponent's sidelines to learn their defense signals and it wasn't the first time they were accused of doing such a thing.

              Also, their coach - Bill Belichek is deception standoffish. Basically, he's an unlikable jerk.

              Go Colts.

                Taxachusetts has enough pride with the Red Sox and all.

                Go, Colts.

                  As we all well know, no one has ever tried to steal another team's signals in the history of the league. Belichick is the devil.

                  But seriously, I'm really excited about this game.

                  As a Patriots fan, this season has been pretty crazy. A part of me is sort of uncomfortable with the way the team is playing. In prior seasons, it's always been a matter of getting ahead by a few points, then toughing it out on the ground to run the clock down. Seeing a 45-point blowout is a little disconcerting, and almost doesn't even seem like Patriots football.

                  I'm not going to complain, though. They're a lot more exciting to watch. Tom Brady's 30 TDs and 2 INTs are incredible.

                    Can the Pats redeem their image if they stop at oh, say, 30 points when beating the Colts?

                      You're right - no one has tried to steal another team's signals with video cameras. Only the amazing Patriots.

                        The point you people fail to understand is that the Patriots broke an explicit rule in doing so. The Commissioner's office even sent out a memo about not doing it right before the Patriots were caught. Having someone try and pick up on the catcher's signals while on second base or trying to pick up on what a quarterback's cadence means aren't explicitly against the rules.

                        That being said I don't know how you stop Tom Brady and Randy Moss.

                          Hmmm....didn't the Bears beat the snot out of the Pats in Super Bowl XX?

                          *shrug*

                          I'm in Chicagoland, and not a big sports fan, so this is the best I could come up with.

                          Also, is the game over yet?

                          Damn...it seems like just yesterday that I remember Prince doing the halftime show, and I'm actually not kidding, either. This past year flew right by.

                          In fact, I moved into my new house during Super Bowl weekend a year ago. But, wait, that was in February, and it's still October now.

                          So I guess this topic isn't about the Super Bowl.

                            Did I ever even imply that I didn't think the Patriots were cheating? They got caught, and were punished, and I support that. Cheating is wrong. I'm just saying it's unfair to portray the Patriots as a bunch of lying cheaters with everyone else in the league just trying to play an honest game.
