if your a fan of the series then you probably should check it out. i discovered this at the mag so you can pop on over and check it for yourself. 13th episode is coming probably next week sometime. whole thing takes about 5 hours to watch but you can pick and choose what you want to see. ive provided a guide to tell you what each video covers which can be found 2 posts down in the topic.

the general theme is that its a synopsis of the ff games, what each did for the series, how it propelled square, and interesting bits of information about the company.

If nothing else the title screens are taken from the documentary from the FFXII collectors edtion. Not sure on the content.

Gametrailers is pretty great. Their Metroid and Zelda retrospectives are also very well done.

I find humor in these kind of videos.

A big gaming website goes into full detail about games and people think it's awesome and well documented.

But if a few geeks at home put the same thing together, they would have no lives.

I saw the first ten parts awhile back (Before they did the 11th and 12th). Some of it is pretty interesting.

The whole retrospectives series on gametrailers.com is kind of interesting.

I like the Retrospective series. It's very well done and if it can keep my attention for 20 minutes or longer then you know it's good.

Just watched Part 13, the final segment. Damn good.

As much crap as I give Square all that music and game footage made my heart two sizes larger. I'm glad their main brand is still strong.

Too bad it's their only brand left. BUUURRRNNNN

i just watched the super metroid portion of that and there were like 3 or 4 moves i didn't even know you can DO IN THAT GAME.

And I've played it through LIKE A MILLION ****ING TIMES.

i heard it mentioned in the last video, no idea what that was all about. are they planing to over market that installment? would make more sense for them to release it first and see how well it does then decide to release related games and such.

Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII is the name of the series that is comprised of three games, all Final Fantasy XIII. The First is Final Fantasy XIII. The next is Final Fantasy Versus XIII an action RPG being directed by Tetsuya Nomura. And then there is Final Fantasy Agito XIII, a cell phone game. Each game takes place on diferent worlds/universes and don't share characters or plots. Rather they have common mithos and thematic elements.

But, isn't that what Final Fantasy is already?

The whole project reeks of Nomura.
