Can i die without the game ending?

I started making a sim like game. You and a bunch of people just landed on an island but, your ship got destroyed, So you only choice is to start all over. But I had a problem in the game you can cut down trees for wood to build up your settlement, anyway you battle the ent type monsters (just so the game isnt to easy). If you lose i want it to say "your axe broke!". It always ends up saying game over but I dont want that. Any suggestions?

The only way I know of would be to place a whole bunch of event battles scattered around the island/forest and set the battle to NOT cause a game over when you die, then do the commands to take away the working axe and replace it with a broken one. Presumably the player would have to get it fixed/replace it.

Well i got the axe thing worked out. But placing events all over the island wouldn't work its to big. So I guess I get no solutions to my dilema.

What about modifying the size of your island?

Or

You could make a couple duplicate copies of your island and use decorative events and invisible warp points to divide it up so it seems that you're on the same island but you're actually using several fields. That way you can hold more than just the 20 events.
