This is not a thread about my favorite movies.
Which movie(s) have you watched that you feel had a meaningful impact on you? A movie that you felt was emotional, captivating or had a powerful message.
"Schindler's List" is the only movie I ever watched that had any real emotional effect on me. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole film, but the ending where Liam Neeson's character breaks down crying saying, "I could have saved more..",
was to me the best scene in the whole movie. You could really feel his guilt despite all the good he had accomplished.
"Requiem for a Dream" is one of those movies where the scenes stuck in my head for weeks after watching it. The cast wasn't necessarily all that great in my opinion, but the way the director managed to capture the true grittiness of the drug world in every scene (however embellished and exsagerated some scenes were), coupled by the haunting musical theme made it a movie I will never forget.
"Falling Down" is not a very serious movie, which I think would have been better had it been, has a few meaningful messages in it: You never know how fragile a humans souls can be, and you never know what a person is capable of. It makes you aware that your family, friends, co-workers or anyone is capable of going on a bloody murderous rampage if pushed to the edge.
I name these three because they are on the top of my head at the moment.
I am not saying that these movies are the greatest films ever made. Especially not the last two.
Anyway, thats all I got to say about that.
