    The Scare

I've gotten fairly far on Legend Of Zelda: Twighlight Princess, and Resident Evil 4. On RE4 I was just at the part where:

    *** SPOILERS ***
You fight two of the giant guys( El Gigante ) at once.
    *** END SPOILERS ***

I beat that went back and saved. Went to play later. And get a message said that said:

Memory Card is damaged. Data unable to load.

    Play without saving.

    Retry.
I was kinda mad, and thought I'd just give out. But I shut of my GameCube. Took out the memory card. I put it back in, and tried agian. It worked. And I went farther...

So anyone whose memory goes corrupt don't earease your memory right away. ( Some poeple delete the memory and start agian ).

My friend got one of those third-party super memory cards for the PS2, and transferred his game data from his Sony made card to that one, thinking it would provide 10 times the memory and faster data reads.

Two months into it, some new games he got ****ed up all the saves on that super memory card, rendering the thing unusable and completely corrupted.

Do NOT buy third-party memory cards that offer 10x the memory of an ordinary card. Don't fall for their bull**** promises--you'll only get screwed in the end.

I had one of those for PS1, paid 40 bucks for 15 pages, each page holding 15 slots, and it died on me in 12 days, luckily I was able to return it, I put the money into 4 real memory cards

unofficial memory cards with multiple pages always fail. I had one that was supposed to have about 15 or more pages I think. Had two buttons, the first switched through three rows, and the second switched for the pages in that row. But most of the time when switching pages it would corrupt the data.

I remember when I first got Phantasy Star Online ep. 1 & 2 for gamecube. I'd play with my character offline for a bit, get him leveled up, but whenever I'd go online, it would say server crashed then my character would be corrupted. I played offline for like a month, with many failed attempts to play online with many corrupted characters. Problem? I was playing with a nyko memory card. I started data over on my first party card. Man that was more trouble than it was worth.

Theres a few other stories, but when it came to gamecube third party cards usually spelled disaster.

I had one of those crappy PSX 15 page memory cards. Deleted all my saves the minute I tried actually using the damned thing.

Then I had a PS2 memory card die on me. I lost a lot of "perfect" files that I had made throughout the years, and it *really* ****** me off. But now I have a good reason to play through some of those classics collecting dust.

I don't have any first party memory cards for my gamecube. Jus and another t a Gameshark 1000 block(one that connects to the computer) and another 1000 block one (has an "i" on it forget the brand) They have never corrupted on me. The only problems I had is if they didn't read them. Easily fixed by removing them, blowing into them, and putting them back in.

Blowing in cartridges just messes them up more!...

                    Use my tactic -
                    1. Strut towards game system
                    2. Gently pull out cartridge/card (be sure to look sensual while attempting this stunt)
                    3. Give a broad smile (the cartridge will immediatly feel you are a friend)
                    4. SUPER STEVEN SEAGEL STARE!!!!!

This full proof plan will make sure your cartridge never messes up again!
                    You are welcome in advance...

Oh and i have a Game X Change memory card for my ps1
One day i booted up Legend of Legaia and found that everything had been corrupted... including completed or almost completed files of FF1, FF2, FF4, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, Legend of Legaia, Brave Fencer Musashi, Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, FF Tactics, BOF3... I have all original PS2 Memory Cards. Nothings went corrupt except Gran Turismo 4. Probally because my little cousin thought it was funny when I turned on X8 Allceration with a AR. ( Only game I used cheats on and just for fun ). Pretty wicked going 0-400 in 3 seconds.

Anyways my Game Cube memory card, I don't think is original. It's worked for 3 months. Well we had a power surge when I first got it, ( Week after ). Three hours of Legend Of Zelda went Corrupt. I've probally spent 14 hours on Resident Evil 4 and 10 on Legend Of Zelda. But I wouldn't like replaying RE4 because my memory went corrupt. I think I'm like two thirds or one half done the game. Chapter 4-2.

You've mentioned Steven Seagal on more than one occasion...I don't see the big attraction to him. I've never seen a good movie he's done. I guess if you like a lot of explosions, his movies might be okay. But you might want to think about spelling his last name correctly if you're going to reference him.

Also, I was unaware all of those games were available on the PSX...FF1 and 2 were on Origins, FF7-9 were originally released for the PSX, and I know there was a compilation called Final Fantasy Anthology that had Chrono Cross and one of the Final Fantasy games you mentioned, but that still leaves 2 FF games and Chrono Trigger that I don't think were ever released on the PSX (but I could be wrong).

Perhaps your memory card was not plugged in all the way? I had that problem with a friend's PS2 memory card once, because he dropped it and cracked the plastic shell when he stepped on it, and it was very titchy on getting it into the system correctly. If you didn't get it in quite all the way, it would simply say memory was corrupted.

you know whats odd is when I had my SNES back when I was 9-10, I had a few games that wouldnt work when you cleaned them out, and Id get mad at yell at them (like it was gonna help) and put them away and play something else, later Id come back and try them, and they still didnt work (didnt see that coming) so Id take a breath, calm down, and be like "look, Im sorry, can you just work for a little while?" and try it one more time and itd mysteriously fire right up nearly everytime, and if I didnt apologize it would never work

So I developed the habit when a game doesnt work Id stay calm and 'negotiate' with it, and some helpful tips:

-Capcom just needs a friend, so apologizing goes a long way

-Konami is like a close knit family, if you fuss at it, none of your other Konami games will work anymore

-Squaresoft works regardless, they just want the attention

-Square-Enix is full of themselves and will decide to freeze after about 2 hours of playing without saving, just to get back at you

-EA games, like the games they host, almost always win and doesnt care what you say

-Enterbrain is moody, even if you do talk it into working, there might be a few glitches while you play(like menu options that will freeze the game)

I use a Q-tip and a little rubbing alcohol, and gently clean the metal contacts in the cartridge. (not sure what the part is called).

I have done this with memory cards, and snes games that couldn't be read anymore, and it worked for me.
