    Texas Public Records Question

This is more a question for people who lives/lived in texas

I just found out my mother-in-laws husband has been lying to us all along, and I have a question.

    OK, a quick story...

Jackies mom and husband just got back together, and they needed a place to stay, he has a car but a Texas License, he went to DMV one day and they said they couldnt issue plates for his car because he didnt have a virginia DL, and he didnt want to get one there because he was about to move 250 miles away.

So ok, we'll let them move up here, then he can get his license, so they move up here, he finds a job and hes been using our car to go back and forth because a texas license is still valid in virginia, he asked us if we could put him on the insurance, so we did.

Anyways, turns out his license in Texas is revoked(found out when insurance wrote us a letter) and he cant get one here in virginia either, he's been playing us since day one so he could have a place to live, after looking back with this information, Im surprised I didnt catch all the suspicious phrases and comments he made.

So basically hes been driving our car without a license, when he said he did, and now it turns out if he gets in an accident, we'll have to pay for their medical bill, to replace their car, and we're out a car, all because he lied to us.

So anyways, in virginia we have a database in the courts system online where we can search for past convictions, both criminal and traffic, we're trying to find out what hes been convicted of to cause a revocation of his license, my mother-in-law would also like to know...so does Texas have a public case information database online?

    Re: Texas Public Records Question

i think you need to revoke him off the insurance immediately to prevent yourself from getting into SERIOUS trouble. then you need to kick his ass to the curb, evict him, whatever you need to do becuase hes lied to you.

did the police catch him? is that why your cars gone or did he refuse to return it? id say get the police involved, and probably should be contacting a lawyer.

get him off that insurance and quickly build a wall between yourselves and him. if he screws up you could lose 100's of thousands of dollars becuase of this so youd best stop it today.

edit: if im not mistaken texas should have the same type of system since all court records are public (baring cirtain cases). contact the clerk office (law building place where they keep records of this stuff). if you know where your virginia one is then ask them for more information about it since they should atleast have contact numbers and so on.

Its stopped, Progressive automatically took him off the insurance after the BG check, and yeah, hes pretty much got his 2 week notice as of today(In Virginia, non-relatives can be given a 2 week notice, and hes not considered related to me because hes my wifes step-father)

He took the car to work today(I didnt know about this until mail came today), so as soon as he gets home Im going to tell him he has to find his own way to work from now on(walkings not an option, his work is 48 miles away)
