    Prima strategy guide

Does the guide make huge a difference? Out of the three console makers, 2 is the only one that is difficult for me.

Is it worth it to buy it, or is it just as convoluted as the game manual?

i own it and i think its actually useful with the pictures and stuff in it. if you have the money id say it couldnt hurt buying it but you can probably get an ok tutorial via written guides for free. i got the guide free when i bought the game so i cant complain.

is their something out of it you really want? overall id say its one of their better guides. it was actually recommended to me a while back.

edit: the back has a picture reference guide which i think alone is worth the 5 bucks or whatever the guide is worth.

well, I don't know what's in it. I was just hoping for something to help me along with the program. Make it easier.

The problem with user made help files is that they usually aren't very good. And also my pc is in my dining room, and my ps2 is in my bedroom so I would have to get up constantly to read stuff. I also don't have a printer.

i was gona offer to take a few pictures of the guide but they dont show up well enough.

it talks about every feature in the game and provides a picture of where it is and what it looks like. it has a full guide for pictures of every item you can add to the game including textures.

overall its very basic but more indepth then the manual. it has 150 pages, 110 of which are how to fiddle with the game and the last 40 are the resources i mentioned. no page is wasted in it, it is divided into 4 or 5 columns which is filled with information and the small thumbnail picture.

honestly, if your going to be spending hundreds of hours on the game then your better off with the guide as it will definably save you some work. i have some printed sheets i occasionally use for rpg maker 1 but since ive memorized alot of the features i dont use them as often. the guide is a good basic beginners tutorial and a handy resource for game creation.

i guess the guide is worth it, but if i were you, id just mess around with the software. dont start your first game yet, because by the time you get into it, you'll find easier ways to do the things you did before and understand the system a lot better which will make your game making easier and lots more enjoyable.

make test game, play around with it for a month or so, and be sure to look through the pre-made scripts. some people have a natural aptitude for rpgm 2, but most people (myself included) need time to adjust in understanding how things fit together. if you keep sifting through the menus and experimenting, it will eventually just click.

I want to mention that the biggest thing the guide lacks is an index of the graphics available in the VFX editor.
"What if like...there was an exact copy of you somewhere, except they're the opposite gender, like you guys could literally have a freaky friday moment and nothing would change. Imagine the best friendship that could be found there."

              That's my cue!

              Ahem...

Click the link in my signature for a complete documentation of all elements in the vfx editor! I even made animated gif files where appropriate.

              MOO!

Thanks everyone. I decided to order it... for $15 (I had no choice.)
I should get it in about 10 days, so I can start making some rpgm 2 games with a little more ease. Hopefully.

Oh, and thanks Rodak, I will check those out too. (I can't view the images for some reason.)

I agree it doesn't show all. Because most of it you have to read it to find out how to do most of them. Most of the guide book has pic's to show how to make the land and using the models and stuff, but you have to figure out the rest. It took me awhile to figure it out. But im still in the process in making a full game, but i hate that the buildings are limited in the town and you only can use certain amount of objects in each town, dungeons, and maps.
