Anyone have a trick or something up their sleeve as to how when the main character dies during a random battle(but not the familiar/partner) it scripts to not end the game but return to town? perhaps an invisible event when you go to the next floor?

Re: Events after Death
I don't know if thats possible. It's easy to do with an event battle, but random is a different thing entirerally. If you die during a random fight it doesn't bring to the field or dungeon before playing the game over story teller and even if you did the event to do it would have to be auto. You can't add modes or anything in battle so nothing could trigger it. And keeping it on auto would just loop.
The only way I can think of would be an event, but I can see that's not what you want. So I don't know what to tell ya.

Re: Events after Death
The way azure dreams plays is you enter the tower with a familiar(or two), you always start out at level one but your familiar keeps his level, as you progress through the tower, if you die you automatically get sent back to the town and have to start the tower back from level 1.
The character is always alive when he enters the tower, and the only way he can leave is by a Wind Crystal, he cant just walk out the door, and if he dies, he regains conciousness in town

Re: Events after Death
ahhh i see a problem now. your mixing two systems which is why it isnt working. the game your trying to make works best with custom battles or at least activated by battle events, while your trying to do the system with random battles. if you cant make the random battles work then why dont you use custom battle events instead to get the control your looking for? part of the strategy of azure dreams was seeing a monster and picking the best time to engage it or avoiding it. seams a random battle system will nullify that important aspect.

Re: Events after Death
Yeah but I cant create a turn based game like AD with RM3, and actually Ive played the game quite a bit and random battles work alright for it.
I want to place an event in front of the door that leads upstairs that checks to see if the main character is dead or not, but I dont know how to go about doing that

Re: Events after Death
You know how the characters has their own item screen for each character?
If the main character has a treasure item and he dies, does the game still register that character as having that treasure item active even though he cannot use it?
What Im saying is does a treasure item have a in-game non-modifiable active/inactive property that goes inactive once it cannot be used(by dead possessor)?
I dont think it does but I never tried
