    Edgar

I'm working on a game. Here's how the story goes:

Let us go back in time to the 1800s. The event: moments before the death of Edgar Allen Poe. There is a great flash of light, and Edgar finds himself completely healthy in the mythical village of Brigadoon, the fishing village that only appears for one day in a century. Edgar sees that the town is in ruins, and around him are the great thinker Plato and the writer Homer. What astounds Edgar is that he has become 20 years old again! The people of Brigadoon tell them that the town and the surrounding city-states of Antalli and Ravenhii are in danger of falling into chaos caused by an unkown force, and if the trio can stop it, they will be granted immortality in brigadoon and have their loved ones returned to them. And so begins the unkown tale of Edgar Allan Poe, Plato and Homer......

If anyone has something to say, say it, before I cancel the Idea. Oh, and I won't be back on the Pavilion until the 29th

Just curious, but why Poe, Plato and Homer?

Huh, how interesting. However, I can't shake a sort of vibe that reminds me of Eternal Sonata. Yet at the same time, it feels like a different thing.

Either way, go for it, man!

        Edgar Allen Poe, huh?

If you don't quote "The Raven" In your game somewhere, I will be... displeased.

I would be quite displeased if he did, since that's the one that EVERYONE knows.

But that's one of his best.

            "The Conqueror Worm" then.

What a wierd, yet, original story.

I'd prefer a game which places a Kung-fu George Washington in an apocalyptic Nazi-ruled world.

I actually agree with 162. The story sounds suspiciously like Eternal Sonata.

But, that doesn't matter. Go crazy, and good luck!

"The Masque of the Red Death" would be a good start for finding a story to base the game on.

I remember getting the ire of my english teacher when I laughed when she had told me that a study showed that Poe might have died of rabbies.

                          Re: Edgar

I think it could work very well, but i also think it will be way too easy to mess up

                          Here is why -

                          1. Plato is hard to know as a person... so far as a great thinker no one can be so sure because of the sheer fact that every dialogue and/or story he told was through the voice of Socrates... of course one could interpret this as just a character ideal of sheer respect and not true statements, that is entirely possible... but what of the people who's idea's differ from this? All i am saying is that it is a rocky road with that odd man.

                          2. Edgar could work out great because of sheerly who he is in his own mind... but also he could go bad because of the quotes one would use... I highly doubt one would quote his own poems lol

But all in all it sounds cool and very original
                          Good Luck

                            I like the idea.

I have to toss in my own variant, as it seems to be the trend in this thread, and call it Edgars instead.

Edgar Allen Poe, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and J. Edgar Hoover!

                            Now there's a Terrific Trio!

Set it on Barsoom too... I loved that series! "The Cask of Tars Tarkus!"

But it still sounds like fun your way.

                            Make it!

As far as Poe stories go, I'm partial to The Cask of Amontillado.
