    E4 (Live Arcade)

I downloaded Every Extend Extra Extreme last night at about 3 in the morning, and played it on and off until 4 pm the next day (which kind of sucked, because I had been up since 10 pm, and had to work a 9-10 hour overnight, which I just got home from just now). So 2 hours of sleep in 36 hours. Yay! That's the main thing (for me) about the game...it's addictive as hell.

And the best part (assuming you own some "beat-driven" music) is that there is a mode to analyze any song you feed it (up to 8 minutes long), and then you have to determine the BPM. Once that's set, you can use the song in the game, and EVERYTHING in the game goes to the beat of the music, including controller vibration. It is SO bad ass. And it's only 800 points, which I think is pretty good, as it has more features than the PSP version, which costs more. Also, you have the capability of storing up to 1000 of your own songs.

I don't know if the game is really easy or something, but within the first day, and having never played it before, on one of my games using my own music, I managed to place at 455 or something on the leaderboards with something like 33 trillion points (maybe it's more...there were so many digits, it was kind of hard to tell what my score actually was).

I've yet to play a game by Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q? Entertainment that I've not liked. I mean, you've got Space Channel 5 (even though I think that was probably made before he started his own studio), Meteos, Rez, Every Extend Extra, and Lumines....and I've yet to play their version of Gunpey.

Anyway, anyone else planning on getting this? I think I've found a game to replace Geometry Wars, at least for me.

Ah, so that's what E4 is. I was seeing you had been playing that and had no idea what it was. It sounds pretty boss.

Going to download the demo tonight, seeing how I got my 360 back just today.

I have major catching up to do.

Yeah, the trial version is okay, but what sold me is when I saw you could use your own songs....I immediately paid the 800 points for the full version. Also, it's just really freaking cool to see 1000+ chain combos that sometimes rack you up point totals in the BILLIONS.

The score I got in the top 500 on the leaderboards with, I was using the Thin White Duke remix of Coldplay's "Talk," LCD Soundsystem's "On Repeat," and Stardust (Daft Punk)'s "Music Sounds Better With You."

I've got about 40 songs on my flash drive right now, waiting to be converted for the game, and once they are, I'm probably just gonna put the whole folder on random, and play the game with whichever song comes up. Obviously, everything in the game will adjust accordingly.

The fact that you can use your own songs has me sold!

I played the demo and wasn't that impressed. It was kind of just pointing somewhere, pressing a button, and watching a bunch of explosions for 20 seconds. Then doing it again.

I like these kind of games. They don't follow traditional game formulas, and become unique in their own right. Makes me want to actually go to the PlayStation Store and download Everyday Shooter.

That being said, I'm eagerly awaiting Rez for the Arcade.

                  I played it yesterday.

                  I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M DOING OR WHY! o_O

                  Sure is pretty though.

I think, theoretically, it's the exact same as the majority of video games out there...you blow stuff up.

                        So.

                        I got it.

                        Don't really like it.

Should've tried the demo first. *facepalm*

It's a little hard to get used to, but I'm not giving up on the game so easily. Soon as I get into the node, I'll make the full download.
