There's so many bits of Greek "Mythology" that I like.

i like mythology in general. i am currently reading a book called "the power of myth" by Joseph Campbell.


edit as a side note: i believe part of the reason for the star wars "failure" for the last made episodes was becuase lucas did not follow the examples he followed in the first three. had he followed the same myth themes for the first three he could of really had something special rather then try to tap markets cheaply and quickly.

The oly thing that sucked in star wars was Jar Jar Binks.
But enough with that. I started this thread because there was this guy in "Geek mythology" who thought it was "Greek Mythology". So I started this thread.

No. episode three was just fine, because Jar Jar barely in it. I have a shirt at home that says "The Empire was Jar Jar's fault".

just a purposeless character added in for the childeren. the first episode was a waste of film, but the 3rd came off more in tune with the series yet light years away. the 3 episodes where out of sinc with the rest of the series, it just didnt have the same feel as they did and the writing was way off base. alot of bad decisions, horrid acting, and subpar scripting ruined the film for me. the original 3 where master pieces, beautifully woven films that felt exactly how id want a sci fi film of that caliber to feel.

in the original lucus stuck to mythology style, in the first three he lost sight of it entirely and chose to make it using the mainsteam garbage we have today. the whole series has to feel like its from the same stock, not just look like it and have the same characters. if he had of atleast wrote the scripts for the entire series upfront then i think it would probably of been much better.

going to a series 20 years later or so makes for a huge gap thats hard to fill. in just 6 years ive changed my writing style tremendously, and i can only guess at how huge the gap lucus had.
