Level 1 Player Stats Level 1 Opponent Stats

Hello, I am very new to the world or RPG Maker. I recently purchases 3 and am a bit confused on how to do stats, I think I have figured out player stats its the opponent stats that are really throwing me. I have made my character stats reasonably low but the randoms still do no damage to me with a physical attack, their magic works fine its the physical, also they are much slower than I am. Could a couple people please post some good stats for random encounters in the beginning of the game? It would be very appreciated.

Dont get overwhelmed by all the formulas, its actually quite easy if you take it step by step and dont jump around

Ya it is pretty confusing until you do a double take on it, hell i am still stuck on variables pfffff
