    Worms Open Warfare II

Do any of you have this game? More importantly, do any of you have this game for DS? Cause I wanna play online.

Personally, I think the DS one is pretty great. Quick play is nice to just open up DS, kill things, close. If you're looking for a solid single player campaign you might feel cheated, but if you have ANYONE (i.e me) to play this multiplayer with it's worth the money.

And I guess you can talk about the PSP version too.

I'm getting it on the PSP sometime. I have no desire to get the DS version, as the PSP version has more fleshed out features, and has a helluva lot more detail.

Since playing Worms: Armageddon for the Dreamcast, every Worms game makes me sad. They did it right once, why not again?

Yeah Forts under Siege was not anywhere near as fun. I hear this one has the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch though, and seems to be pretty similar to how Armageddon was. I'll probably be picking this up when I get a PSP, which will be once I figure out how much it's going to cost to fix my car. I played it on a friends PSP though, and it seems pretty standard worms to me, which is a good thing.

It does have a lot better graphics, but whoever told you fleshed out features is wrong. They're almost the same game (PSP just switches Laboratory for Time Attack, which doesn't really matter.) Get it for the PSP, but don't expect a different game.

I'm quite over Worms. I'd like to play it with people, but everyone I played Worms with is in Ohio.

There was a good six months where all I did was play Worms Armageddon with people. Reminiscing over good times...

Rick, you know that Worms Open Warfare 2 is playable online right? over Infrastructure (PSP), and WiFi Connection (DS).

Yes. I do. But it's not fun when you're not playing with people right next to you.

                            Edit: All that waiting sucks.

                              Fixed.

Also, yeah, I agree with Rick. Worms is a helluva lot of fun when you play someone who actually knows what he's doing. The best part is when there's this shot that looks completely impossible, and with a few seconds left, you rapidly give your best guestimate at the trajectory of a grenade or a bazooka shot, and hit him dead on. THAT'S what makes the game worth playing.

The only minor gripe I have with Worms is the same gripe I had playing Starcraft 64 against the computer. Which basically means the games inevitably turned into a semi-stalemate.

I'll explain. In Worms, more often than not, by buddy and I would end up with one or two worms each when it went to sudden death, and due to how things were laid out, it was really difficult for one or the other of us to get a win by using weapons. So we would inevitably both try to teleport to the highest ground possible, lay out some girders, and then tunnel into the ceiling. Then it was basically a waiting game until the water got high enough to see which of us ended up being at a higher height, and thus, the winner of the match.

With Starcraft, it was basically, I'd build defenses around almost every infiltration point as quickly as possible, where it was almost impossible for the enemy to get through, and while building up a massive army, and sending them out little by little to weaken the enemy a bit, I'd continue to build new defenses around my expanding land area, and fortify my old defenses so they were still viable. Eventually, I had this massive army just waiting, so I'd send them all out at once, and thoroughly decimate the enemy in about 10 minutes. However, playing a game like this sometimes took upwards of 2 hours to complete.

I'll grant you that there were MANY times where I was Zerg rushed before sufficiently defended, in which case I'd quit the game and start over.

Oh, yeah...this was in the one-off missions (what would be considered multiplayer on the PC), not the story mode. Needless to say, if I actually played against real people, I'd probably do terribly.
