    guilty pleasures in music

what are the bands you really don't like to admit to liking?

mine would be Taking Back Sunday, Coheed & Cambria, and Snow Patrol. I'm also not proud of owning that damn Feist album.

I actually quite like a lot of the Green Day that I've heard, as well as a bunch of Sheryl Crow (with the exception of the "peeling the labels off the bottles of bud" song). I mean, I think "If It Makes You Happy" and "My Favorite Mistake" are quality songs. Also, there's some Jewel song that plays at my work that I've grown to like every time I hear it.

I would add Coldplay to the list, but I'm not such an indie-rock elitist that I would never mention liking them. I like them a lot, actually.

my problem is that my guilty pleasures are often seen on the musical interests sections of fifteen year old girls' myspaces. or fifteen year old boys who look like fifteen year old girls.

I love Kylie Minogue. "Come Into My World" and "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" are hella catchy, with that slick dance-music production and bass, it's fail-proof.

That one band with the forty people in it and they wear robes.

Snow Patrol should not be in this topic.

The first few Devo records are awesome.

Well, at least she's big in England, and really, that's all that matters, isn't it?

I get a lot of flak for listening to Christina Aguilera's Young Girl, but I have no qualms with admitting to it.

I have a lot of music like this, where I really love a song or band that should make me cringe to admit liking it, but I'll tell anyone. It's part of who I am, so why hide it?

Hmm where do I begin. My whole record collection is pretty embarrassing.

The Pointer Sister - the neutron dance espically.
                            Elton John
                            Billy Joel
                            Simon and Garfunkle

I also love Queen and I think that the baby likes the beach boys because everytime I play the Surfin' USA album he kicks like crazy.

AND I love love love Sinatra, Dean Martin and Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole but I'm not so embarrased by that.
