Re: Time Travel
Watched it and very interesting. The last question of if we are even real is quite an interesting theory. I'll wait till more people watch it to give a more in depth opinion.
It is kind of interesting to think that the world from my eyes, and the people I know could in fact be imaginary, and if I ever viewed the world from someone else's eyes, then I wouldn't be seeing the same world because I might be the only person to view my world. Pretty weird.
And you also have to take in account how our brain works and interprets stuff, and everyone could interpret the world as something different in terms of how things look, feel, taste, smell, etc...Last edited by d2king10; 10-09-2007, 03:16 PM.

Not just "we might not be real", but "We PROBABLY ARE NOT real."Originally posted by d2king10 View PostWatched it and very interesting. The last question of if we are even real is quite an interesting theory.I love it.
And I agree...it's strange indeed to imagine that someone in the future is perceiving my entire lifetime...that I AM that perception.
Probably my favorite thing about that documentary though, is that it introduced me to Kurt Gödel. Just...WOW.

Re: Time Travel
Now I'm wondering if it would be ethical for an advanced civilization to crate a virtual universe where people believe they have a consiousness and believe they exsist but are completely powerless over their own fate. Maybe they feel bad for it and thus crated a virtual heaven for us to go to when we die. That would be nice of them if they did.

I was reading about him a few weeks ago, in regards to his statement that a dictatorship could be formed in the US due to a logical contradiction in the Constitution.Originally posted by Obright View PostNot just "we might not be real", but "We PROBABLY ARE NOT real."I love it.
