In this new 1Up.com interview Itagaki trumpets his new DS game, Dragon Sword, and blasts DMC4. Apparently a DMC vs. NG war has been going on among nerds for a while and now it's finally hit the developers themselves.

I haven't played the new Ninja Gaidens and have only played DMC3. It wasn't until the trailers for NG2 that I realized how similar the gameplay was to DMC. Which for me is discouraging seeing as I don't much like DMC.

New? Up until now, Ninja Gaiden's just been rereleased with various patches and fixes. Atleast DMC actually advances as a series.

Personally, I prefer Ninja Gaiden and this love goes all the way back to the NES days. They offer a lot more challenge and action but I do like Dante's new look for the upcoming DMC4.

I won't take sides in this war because I think that both games are great equally. But Dante is hotter than Hayabusa......IMO.

based on gameply, they're both great. but ninja gaiden probably edges out devil may cry because of its consistent gameplay quality and general superior status based on its longevity in the video game world. plus, its main character is a ninja, which is infinitely cooler than dante can ever hope to be.

No, I actually mean Dante. He looks like a hard boiled squinty eyed western action hero... like picture 1960s Clint Eastwood with long dirty white hair and a permanent five 'o clock shadow.

Nero just looks like girlier Dante... they could have alteast made him somewhat distinctive as a new character.
