Are they going to keep doing this?

I was at Gamestop today and noticed yet another PSP game redone for the PS2. Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror.... I bought it out of curiousity, but doesn't it seem silly to make a game exclusively for the handheld then release it on a console? Jeez, this is at least the fourth time I've seen this done.

    Add me... I'll wait.

    $$$$ in the bank?

Dark Mirror was a fantastic PSP game that revived a dying series and it was definitely PS2 quality... but nobody bought it. There's a new Syphon Filter coming out on the PSP that looks downright amazing but I'm sure it'll be ignored too.

And at the same time, exclusivity has no meaning these days. Grand Theft Auto was supposed to be ps2 exclusive... look what happened there. What about Resident Evil 4? Every time I think about it, I picture a game case dressed up as a cheap whore because it's definitely been passed around a lot. Eternal Sonata was supposed to be 360 exclusive. Mass Effect will most likely end up on the PC like all of Bioware's games (although Microsoft gets paid either way). Why is it that Konami think's it's appropriate to release a better version of their Metal Gear Solid games 9 months after the original? What happened to Capcom's BIG 5? Why is it that Nintendo DS games are suddenly seeing the light on the Wii? Why is it that everyone complains that the PSP has "lol ports" when the Nintendo DS has just as many and the Gameboy Advance had THE MOST ports and remakes out of any non-computer system in history?

Answer: $$$$$ in the bank. As long as you have something people want to play, they'll pay to play it regardless if it's stupid or doesn't make sense.

But... if you don't like the idea then don't buy it. Simple as that?
