    I feel like an IDIOT.

This morning, I went to get my car an oil change, and during the procedure, one of the workers tells me that he checked the PH levels of my car, which he claimed were pretty bad. Consequently, he strongly suggested I get a radiator flush. I reluctantly said okay, and ended up paying over 100 dollars.

Look, guys. I purchased this car on 7/7/07, and in less than three months, I've already had to have three radiator flushes done to my car (today being my third). Does this even seem reasonable, or did my wallet just get raped? Now, my funds are depleted completely, and it will be a little bit before I can get it back.

    An idot?

I don't have a car so I don't know but it sounds to me like one of those things they say to get extra money out of you.

Over a hundred bucks? Jesus. Yeah. You need to get some second opinions. Or find a buddy who's a car guy to give the truth.

Three radiator flushes in three months. Yeah, that's just wrong!

Did you go to one of those places like Jiffy Lube? If so, I would recommend ONLY getting an oil change from places like that.

Not long ago, I went to a place similar to Jiffy Lube and they recommended I get a transmission flush because my transmission fluid was filthy. Well, they flushed the transmission alright, but they didn't change my transmission fluid filter. I started dripping transmission fluid everywhere a day after getting the system flushed. After going to a Transmission repair shop, I found that the problem was that when they flushed my transmission they didn't give me a new filter. Bah!

Anyway, now the only thing I get done at that little place is oil changes and maybe a new air filter every so often. Installing the air filter on my own though saves me about seven bucks, so that's what I'm doing now.

your absolutely getting ****ed. you dont need to get it changed that often, forsure not as much as you have been. you should get it changed every 20k/once a year. your car manual should actually tell you how often its recommended to do it. if you do not have one you can get a copy/look it up on the car site i think. i seam to recall getting it done with my oil change so maybe thats why they offered it.

Yeah, this place was called "Go's Oil Lube," and they just recently got new managment, as well as a new store name. I just wish I had stuck to my plan of an oil change.

I mean, I got a radiator flush two months back when my water pump got replaced, so it doesn't make sense for my fluids to get this bad after only this much time. I'm never going there again.

find a good machanic and only go to him. my friends family has an awesome machanic that works closely with them and they have gone there exclusively for years. when you find a good one keep going back.

I don't think my radiator has ever been flushed and I've had the car for 5 years. But then I my car it's worth anything, so I don't bother with the upkeep.

All I really do for my car is give it gas, and oil. Haven't had any problems yet, though it's only a bit older than a year.

Sorry you got scammed, man. I ended up paying $500 to a shop in Valdosta just for replacing my alternator. I'll never get my car fixed in this town again. Hometown mechanics are the best--I got a guy to fix my broken air conditioning for only $25.

Get an owners' manual and learn to do your own oil changes. You got ripped off.

Car maintenance sucks. It would be nice if the auto industry were actually willing to build electric cars, as the technology has been ready for 10 years. Imagine that, electric motors need no tune ups, oil changes, pistons, belts, pulleys, gaskets, radiators... Hell, the torque curve of electric motors is such that you can even build a car capable of fast acceleration and 90 mph top speed entirely absent of a transmission(of course, if you want a faster top speed while maintaining the acceleration, a transmission is recommended). AC induction motors can do regenerative braking, meaning your brakes will probably outlast the car itself since you'll be using them so little. Then of course, electric motors last 500,000+ miloes with no maintenance...

I have not ridden a bike in several years, and I don't think one will help me make a 2 1/2 drive to Lynchburg tomorrow.

Plus, where can I possibly go that sells bikes for obese people?
